Guys, Looks like I'm heading in a different direction for my suspension and I'll have my front SA koni's up for sale. I put these in a year ago thereabouts. I got them from TC Kline. They have maybe 12-15k miles on em and are in great shape. I have the adjustment knob for them and the best part is they're already installed in M3 strut housings! Yes, I've done all the work for you, this makes it a bolt in affair. I'm keeping my rear koni's, so you'll have to pick up a set of those. Reasonable offers accepted. -josh ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo! Mail AddressGuard http://antispam.yahoo.com/whatsnewfree

#3. Camshafts Writeup - from Steve Klein

Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2003 14:20:45 -0800 From: Steve Klein <klein@robinsonad.com> Subject: Camshafts Writeup Hello, All- Last night I finished pulling together the info and pics I have for the removal of the VANOs unit and camshafts. This is the first draft of the write-up, and I'm hoping that others will chime in with corrections/additions or anything I've overlooked. I did the procedure twice since I received some incorrect lifters the first go-round, and all the images are from video I shot the first time. The camera wonked out before the second round, so I didn't get to shoot video of some other tidbits that I think might help. All comments/corrections/questions are welcome, and I'd like to thank James Clay, Chester Wong and others who provided information or advice as I was preparing to undertake what I thought was a daunting task. The job was actually enjoyable, took about four hours from start to finish, got rid of a good deal of engine noise (including the marbles) and made a tired engine quite peppy again. Here's the link: http://www.robinsonad.com/M3Camshafts/ Thanks for listening, and I hope I'm giving back some useful info to a great community. Steve P.S. To those who have experience replacing the lifters, do the bearing journals that hold the lifters as well bear replacement? Do the lifter bores wear out enough to inhibit pressurized oil from fully pumping up the lifters? I ask because I still get an occasional lifter ticking when puttering around town. A little peppy driving and it goes away, thus my chain of logic about worn bores. Thanks.

#6. Anyone replace a seatbelt latch for SRS light? - from Townsend, William
Top
Date: Thu, 20 Nov 2003 10:19:59 -0500 From: "Townsend, William" <wtownsen@enterasys.com> Subject: Anyone replace a seatbelt latch for SRS light? Well, the peake SRS tool tells me that my driver side seatbelt switch is bad. Reset the code and it came back on with in a day. Looks like the latch has gotta go. Anyone have experience with changing this? I am assuming the whole thing has to go to get the new switch. From the TIS, looks like this beast is tied to a firing device in the seat that takes up slack in the belt when a crash happens. It looks like one piece from the pictures. Any help would be great! --Bill 96 M3 coupe red

I've been playing with it since the initial question came up. It controls the intensity of the speedometer digital display, OBC display and OBC clock. I don't think the intensity changes much under normal conditions, but if you shine a bright light on the sensor, it makes the digital displays quite bright. If you cover up the sensor, it slightly darkens the displays. I've considered Schricks many times but just haven't been able to work them into the budget. This is one of the last major upkeep/repair items I've had to do, and my next move will most likely be the Euro HFM, injectors, intake and chip mod, which is necessary for the cams anyway. I've still got the cams on my mind, but after reading the thread on bimmerforums about the two developing twin-screw supercharger projects, I think I'll be saving my pennies for that bliss down the road. Having now done the procedure twice, though, I would have no problem going back in and adding Schricks to the mix. I've enjoyed working on the engine (and the rest of the car) as much as I've enjoyed driving it. My hat's off to the Teutonic engineers! #10. WTB: coolant reservoir - from Guillermo Molina

Date: Thu, 20 Nov 2003 13:42:18 -0500 From: "Guillermo Molina" <drwillb@msn.com> Subject: WTB: coolant reservoir Anyone have a coolant reservoir laying around? I need one for my 95. About 2 months ago the radiator upper hose fitting blew and I replaced mine with a Behr unit. Since then I've had a nagging slow leak and I think I've narrowed it down to stripped threads in the bleed screw hole. I just replaced the radiator cap this week with a brand new one and this could have also been the culprit but the threads are definitely stripped and it makes me think that this is the most likely culprit. Thanks, Bill Molina 95 M3 follow the sweet smell _________________________________________________________________ Set yourself up for fun at home!
