How in the world did you figure out your windshield washer jet heaters and door lock heaters quit working? I'm very anal but the last thing I would notice is my windshield washer jets not heating. #5. F/S: 1995 M3 Daytona Violet/Dove Grey - from Reid Conti
Top
Date: Sun, 14 Dec 2003 15:32:26 -0800 From: Reid Conti <reid@conti.net> Subject: F/S: 1995 M3 Daytona Violet/Dove Grey Hey all... Selling my 95 M3 (3/95 build date) because I find myself without need for a car at all. It's a 1995 M3 5-speed coupe, built 3/95. 82k miles, Daytona Violet/Dove Grey. Stock 10-spoke Motorsport wheels. Vader seats, heated, full OBC. Almost entirely stock, save the RMS short shifter, lighted shift knob, trunk mat, ZKW ellipsoids, mild stereo. Stock engine, intake, suspension, etc. Never overheated or overrevved, raced, tracked, wrecked, etc. Metal impeller water pump. Very good condition. Has run like clockwork, absolutely flawless -- no mechanical problems since I've had it (past 40k miles), and none I know of from the day it was built. Located in Bellevue, WA. Listed at $17,995. I absolutely love this car, and hate to see it go, but it doesn't make sense to hang onto when I never drive anywhere anyway, and it just costs money to have/insure/park/etc. I think I'll get another 95 M3 someday, unless the M2 coupe or hatch proves irresistible in 2006 or whenever it comes out -- hey, just read in Roundel that they'll have 6's instead of 4cyl only.. for more info: http://www.site5.com/~rconti/m3 or email me. thanks for the bandwidth. - reid

#6. Crutchfield CD changer, Plasma coils, - from jakeadavis@comcast.net

Date: Mon, 15 Dec 2003 06:30:11 +0000 From: jakeadavis@comcast.net Subject: Crutchfield CD changer, Plasma coils, Crutchfield CD changer: Crutchfield is usually pretty reliable in their application guides. Call their product advisor to be sure 1-888-955-6000 (price is right, free). There apparently is some difference in the 95 and 96 head units. Your 97 should be ok. However, the changer's specs are not really that good. A signal to noise ratio of 75 dB is pretty crummy (a decent cassette deck with dolby can make that). Price isn't really that good either ($350). A number of dealers can match or come close to that price A better deal from Crutchfield is the Blitzsafe BMWDMX1 adapter at $80 and the Alpine CHM-S630 changer at $230 (total $310), less than the USA changer and much better performance! I also note that the USA Spec Changer does not specify whether it will play home burned CDR or CDAudio discs. http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-cBcr5TV8yn9/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=2&g=42300&I=572BMWDMX1&o=m&a=0&cc=01&avf=N http://www.crutchfield.com/S-cBcr5TV8yn9/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=500CHMS630 Plasma Direct Ignition Coils: There does appear to be a small performance gain with these coils. Here's an article: http://www.eurotuner.com/howto/99818/ Here's the manufacturer's website: http://www.ignitionsolutions.com/ $450 appears to be a very good price. Bav Auto, MPerformance and others are over $700 for a set. Again, as with CD changers, the 95 is unique from the 96-99 M3s. Jake Davis 95M3 just about to log 150K miles

In most cases you'll never know since to spin tires @ 40+mph is not really easy specially with sticky S03 in the summer. However, you'll find out if you get a little accelerator happy in low traction conditions like pouring rain or snow or worse of all ice (then again if you are going 40mph on ice and decide to downshift to 2nd and punch it you may deserve to crash...) my 2C -------------------- 10 -------------------- Date: Sat, 13 Dec 2003 08:36:14 -0500 From: "Walter Jordan" <wbj12@rcn.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Automatic Stability Control in Snow Having driven home in a few inches on S03s last year I'd not recommend it at all, that aside - my rule of thumb with the ASC is if I'm moving slow around town or accelerating away from a stop it is much more fun and useful to turn it off. If I am at speed on the highway I leave it on because it really does no harm. _________________________________________________________________ This e-mail and any attachments may be confidential or legally privileged. I was in Summit Point last year for their FAATT event and I left ASC on for the first couple sessions and it definitely cuts in at speed above 25 mph. I am pretty sure about that since it kicked in at turn 9 and turn 10 and I was definitely going fatser than 25 mph.
