The new black composite looks an awful like metal. Did you buy it aftermarket or from a BMW dealer? What color was the impeller? Regards, Rich

If you pinged it with your finger nail, it made the metal noise like a bell. Also, if you looked closely, you can see marked like brushed aluminum. It was definitely not a shiney composite material... Chester --- "Dorffer, Rich" <RDORFFER@CleIndians.com> wrote: > Are you sure it wasn't a composite? I Says[sic] > Got it from Motorwerks of Barrington a very large BMW/Mercedes/Porsche/Infiniti/Honda dealership in Barrington, IL. The impeller was definitely some kind of plastic composite too, no chance whatsoever it is metallic. Regards Jamie Howton 2002 330i 1995 M3

The kit comes with HR springs (25% stiffer) and front and rear Koni SA shocks. I also replaced the front control arms. I've got the shocks set about midway for stiffness. The ride is noticeably firmer but is comfortable as a daily driver. Pete was helpful in the selection. Shel 1998 M3

Felt like metal and had a metallic ring to it when I thumped it with my finger and tapped it with a screwdriver. The impeller was black. It looked like spray paint. BMW dealer in Indy is where I got it. No CCA discount- $135. Bruce

Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2003 18:23:17 -0800 From: Reid Conti <reid@conti.net> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Re: Headlight bulbs I agree. I've been thinking of saying something, but have been putting it off. I really like the oncoming color of some of the colored bulbs -- or at least I did when I had them. Once I stopped using them, I started feeling that they just looked really amateurish, especially since you really CAN tell the difference between HID and even the best fakes. The reason I stopped using colored bulbs is the light from them just SUCKS. Everything I've tried, PIAAs and a few others (always because one pair ended up burning out...). It looks like you can see well because your lights really change the color of signs and stuff, but honestly... it's just an illusion, since your lights are the only ones hitting that sign with that particular color emphasized. I found that the road is simply harder to see, as are trees, bushes, etc.. just seems like everything is harder to see. Especially in the wet, the ground seems to just disappear.. I have standard wattage H1 bulbs in my ellipsoids. the ellipsoids are one of the best lighting investments you can make. Maybe consider upping your wiring and going to higher wattage *standard* bulbs (don't bother if your wiring isn't upgraded, they won't be brighter, i've tried). Or just skip the wiring upgrade and go to HID with your ellipsoids. - reid > I've tried all kind of "HID look" bulbs and they all > burned out in less than 3 months. #10. Any Sebring videos? - from Vern Anderson

Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2003 23:10:46 -0500 From: "Vern Anderson" <vernon_anderson@yahoo.com> Subject: Any Sebring videos? Anyone have any good Sebring videos? I'm running there for the first time in mid-January and I need to get up to speed on the track quickly. I have some very good track maps and good turn-by-turn descriptions, but I only have one video. I'll be running the 12-hour course. Moroso videos would also be appreciated as I'm planning to head there in Feb and/or March. Thanks! Vern Anderson
