I don't remember much as far as detail but I know that it was some kind of filter/ion exchange cartridge with a nozzle and a filter/bypass lever that went on the end of your hose. The idea was to wash your car with unfiltered water (saving the filter) and then rinse it with filtered water. The manufacturer's claim was that the water would be clean enough that you could skip drying the car and still not have water spots. I have no idea if this will really work, but after one of you with a black car gives it a thumbs up I'd be willing to give it a try. :) IIRC the estimated price was in the range of $25 though this seems low. Here's an existing product that appears to do the same kind of thing if you supply your own nozzle: http://lushaninc.com/carwash.htm For the Ultimate Garage set I'd like to recommend another alternative: http://www.sparkleauto.com/sobrite-streamline.html There is no question in my mind that this reverse osmosis system should do the trick. If you're willing to spend $10k for a spotless DIY car wash, however, let me offer my telephone number as there are some other things I'd like to sell you. Kevin

Those are the cams in the OBD2 camkit. > I am trying to nail down the correct install spec for these. I have a badly faded fax of a > fax for the Schricks and some of the numbers are undreadable. I need the stock spec > more than the Schrick however. The S50B30 ('95 US M3) cam specs are: intake lift: 10.3mm intake duration: 252 degrees exhaust lift: 9.7mm exhaust duration: 240 degrees I believe that the S52 cam specs are the same but the camshafts differ in that they are hollow (instead of solid), the lobes are ground a little different (narrower due to the lighter lifters in the 3.2) and they are counter balanced. I believe the Schrick cam specs are as follows (same for both the 3.0 and 3.2 applications): intake lift: 11.2mm intake duration: 264 degrees exhaust lift: 11.2mm exhaust duration: 256 degrees Regards, Rich

#5. Source for used/rebuilt calipers for the track/street. - from GGeick6055@aol.com

Date: Sat, 17 Jan 2004 09:33:03 EST From: GGeick6055@aol.com Subject: Source for used/rebuilt calipers for the track/street. I wanted to change out my calipers periodically with a second set for my street/track '92 e36 325IS. Are rebuilt calipers from PEP BOYS or AUTOZONE fine or are there other recommended sources? Replacing the seals on used calipers would also be a good option, just wanted to get some calipers in good shape. Best recyclers to contact? I have some local in New Hampshire but years of salt and sand can't be good. Thanks, Gordon

I would not go with the aftermarket rebuilds. My experience has been poor to say the least. Provided your calipers haven't been in the rust belt and the pistons aren't pitted, rebuilt is the least expensive way to go. Turner also sells reman units. I finally upgraded to the Stoptech big brake kit... Shel

#9. New Schroth street/track seat - from GGeick6055@aol.com
Top
Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2004 09:52:42 EST From: GGeick6055@aol.com Subject: New Schroth street/track seat If you are looking for a combination street/track seat the brand new Schroth seat is the best I have found. I made a trip to HMS to try it out. It is quite comfortable, adjustable back, good lumbar support, provisions for shoulder and sub straps built in, fits much like a race seat and can be bolted in fixed or mounted on sliders. I am combining the seat with a roll bar and Schroth competition harnesses (2" lap and 3" shoulder) that are street legal (push button) release. They can be worn as a 4 or 5, 6 point because ASM is built in the shoulder strap. I was sick of sliding around on my street seat and have been evaluating a number of seats over the last year. HMS is getting a list together to order a bunch to save on shipping costs so if you are interested let them know. No affiliation, just seems to be as good a combination as I have found for duel purpose. Gordon
