Date: Thu, 29 Jan 2004 14:53:47 -0800 (PST) From: Venkata Yella <v_yella@yahoo.com> Subject: Any experiences with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires? Folks, Any experiences with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires? I was initially looking at Goodyear Eagle GS-D3 F1, but they are back ordered. I heard good things about Sport A/S tires from tirerack. They have tread wear rating of 400! Normal Pilot Sport has 220. Also, I heard the performance is on par. I don't need an all season tire(live in bayarea), but I want a tire that lasts 30k miles. Thanks in advance. ===== -Yella v_yella@yahoo.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool. Try it! http://webhosting.yahoo.com/ps/sb/

Depending on your mileage, I would suggest replacing the radiator and hoses while you are in there. Get the belt too. The neck on the radiator gets brittle with age and heat, and is a common failure item. Mine went out on my '95 with 66K mi last August. $140 or there abouts at Bimmerworld for the OEM version. Or you can go big bucks for the Aluminum model for over $600..great for the track though. Just got mine back on the road after replacing the plastic slides for the window risers...a classic e36 problem. The front slide is a pain in the ass to get to, and the coupe adds the fun of adjusting the window close gap. Had the same deal with my '93 325i. BMW does not do door panels and windows well. But I was grinning ear to ear on the way home here today in Atlanta, sunshine, temp back up to 50F after rain and cold, sunroof open..Ford Exploder back to "backup car status"...Ahhhhhhhh! Enjoy! I even have the original invoice ($45K with all options - yikes!). Most things were done and look good. He just didn't know to replace the cooling parts and BMW doesn't really admit there is anything wrong with the plastic parts. I ordered the parts and at the next oil change I'll have them replace the stuff. As well as a few other mods: * M50 (1995) intake manifold * Jim Conforti Shark Injector * Rogue Engineering tranny mounts * Powerflex control arm and rear trailing arm bushings * E46 m3 RSMs * TC Kline lightweight flywheel * UUC pulleys * 4300K HID with Euro ellipsoids * UUC comp evo II short shifter * lighted Rob Knob 3 * (and some stereo mods, too) I also own a highly-tuned 2000 Audi S4, so I'm no stranger to car modification ;) In fact, I'm such an addict that I've already gone and ordered the Conforti Intake :) I'm in the SF Bay Area as well... -Taner
