Date: Wed, 4 Feb 2004 13:11:19 -0500 From: "Newman, Christopher" <CNewman@LSAC.org> Subject: RE: [E36M3] smoked signals? In my search for pictures, the differences between the white/clear and the smoked were subtle at times, depending on the particular picture, what color car it was on, etc. You could be looking at a smoked turn signal but think it was a white/clear, or vice versa. Anyway, you mention BMWCCA. Try flipping through their magazine. There may be several, but one ad should be for a company that will mail you their big catalog for free. I don't have the magazine or catalog with me to give you the specifics, but they sell the smoked stuff. Also, I did an internet search on "BMW smoked turn signals" and various sites popped up. Unfortunately, since I was just looking for pictures, I didn't jot down the site addresses, but they are out there. Hope this helps some. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Date: Tue, 3 Feb 2004 16:18:14 -0700 > From: "Bob Sutterfield" <Bob@XC.Org> > Subject: smoked signals? > > Christopher Newman wrote: > > I've seen numerous photos of cars who have swapped > > out their orange turn signals for white/clear. > > But does anyone have pictures of an M3 with the Smoked turn signals? > > (Preferably on a silver or other light-colored car, but > > beggars can't be choosy). #3. Turner HID retrofit kit anyone? - from Joe Huie
Top
Date: Wed, 4 Feb 2004 15:57:47 -0800 From: "Joe Huie" <jhuie@inreach.com> Subject: Turner HID retrofit kit anyone? I'm toying with the idea of installing HID in my ellipsoids, and I'm wondering if anyone has purchased and installed the Turner HID kit for the ellipsoids? You can see the kit at http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=HIDH1 For those that have this kit, were you happy with the results? How was the quality of the kit? Any installation issues? How was the alignment? The Turner kit seems to be the only kit available that is specifically assembled for the E36 ellipsoids (well, actually they're the only ones I could find for the moment). All the other HID retro kits I've found are not specifically designed for the E36 ellipsoids so I've ruled those out. Thanks in advance. Joe

To get around that problem, I bought a Conforti/Eurosport chip with the EWS-delete option. When I opened the DME to install the chip, I was surprised to discover that it already had a Dinan chip. That chip is now available. (Just to be clear, this chip will NOT bypass EWS.) The chip is known to be good, as the engine was checked by a mechanic before I bought it. It's from a 6/95 build-date, EWS-2 car. Anybody want it? $299 at Dinan; I'm thinking $100, but I'm open to offers. Bob Fluharty 95 M3 87 330is (!) Cincinnati

This link will take you straight to the online registration form: http://www.hoosierbmw.com/driverseventform.asp?event=29 or you can navigate there from the Hoosier Chapter home page: http://www.hoosierbmw.com For those not familiar with it, Putnam Park is located less than an hour's drive west of Indianapolis, making it very accessible from the major Midwest population centres. This is a fun and technical 1.8 mile track with 10 turns, and is exceptionally safe due to the generous runoff areas. More information about the track is available at: http://www.putnampark.com The Rites o' Spring school in April traditionally kicks off the track season here in our area. My route is open and I thought it'd be cool to try and meet up with some folks on the list along the way. I've also been playing with the idea of trying to hit track events/auto-x's in various spots along the way too. If you know of an event in that time frame that's along the way, please drop me an email! Thanks! -josh ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! #8. Help needed, PIX and measurements - from Ed Yee
Top
Date: Thu, 5 Feb 2004 13:49:38 -0500 From: "Ed Yee" <edyee@comcast.net> Subject: Help needed, PIX and measurements I was recently involved in a minor collision to the front end. Outwardly, the damage seems pretty minor. The other party's insurance, Progressive, agreed to pay for all damages, seeing as their client was coming out of a Taco Bell drive thru access the wrong way. Anyway, I checked under the hood this morning, just before dropping the car off at the shop for the Progressive adjuster to look at. I could swear that the radiator has been pushed towards the engine. The hood closes perfectly. Of course, the adjuster doesn't think there's anything wrong other than the bumper cover and rub strips. Could someone measure the distance from the overflow tank to the engine (front of cylinder head), from the metal cross member to the engine side of the radiator (doesn't look like any damage to this). I think that the radiator may have shifted in its mounting. Good sharp pix of both sides of the radiator and top view, especially the distance from the overflow tank to the front of the cylinder head would be greatly appreciated. Please email the pix and also respond privately to avoid bandwidth waste. I want to have technical data to back up my claim. Feel free to include any data that you may think important. Thanks in advance!!!!! Ed 97 M3/2 edyee@comcast.net
