#1. Fuel filter cover - from Scott Blazey

Date: Fri, 27 Feb 2004 12:35:08 -0600 From: Scott Blazey <edpm3@earthlink.net> Subject: Fuel filter cover I need a new fuel filter cover--the black plastic thing. The part is correctly pictured in the ETK, but either the part number listed is wrong, or BMW has mis-marked some replacement parts. When the dealer ordered the number listed in the parts CD, a totally different part arrived. The wrong part had the right number on its adhesive label, and this has happened a couple of times, so the dealer and the parts guy at BMW NA are somewhat baffled. If anyone currently has their M3 up in the air, perhaps you could check to see if there's a part number stamped on the original part, and I could check that against the ETK. I'd look on mine, but unfortunately, I left some of it in the grass at Turn 2 at TWS last fall, and I threw away what was left. By the way, mine's a '95 with the fuel filter location under the car below the driver's seat. Thanks, --Scott

Does this yr M3 allows ECU code checks with the pedal activation? If so, how does the procedure exactly works? TIA, Luis

I went through the same thing when I changed the plugs back in August. Got the same answer from the parts guy I ordered the plugs from, and me being me, double-checked it on the Bosch web site :-) They've been in the car for ~12,000 miles with no problems. How the hell does a body shop lose a wing? Please tell me this isn't James, cause I need to bring my spoiler to be painted. Rob From: Chester Wong <chester_p_wong@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Need part # of 3rd brake light strip in factory trunk spoiler... I don't think you can order the strip separately. Having said that, there is a strip in my bedroom right now because the body shop that repaired my car lost the wing while I held onto the strip so that that doesn't get lost. Yep, broke mine too when I replaced my shifter. The UUC Evo3 came with both clips. I was looking for your part number (didn't look at the Desc. name) and didn't see it on the list. I have 25 11 1 222 766. -Bobby ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jamie Howton" <jhowton@fotofab.com> I'm not sure why you would think that. The bearing "bolt" (BMW's terminology, it isn't actually a bolt) is what's generally known as the bitch clip because it's "a bitch of a job" to get it off and it usually breaks when it comes off. The circlip is easy to remove and can usually be re-used. Regards Jamie

I went through this -- it appears that the plastic part for '95 M3s is NLA. I eventually went with the newer, all-metal one, and had to cut and bend it (non-trivially) to get the frontmost part of it to attach to a hard point on my car. -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. Need the lever for the passenger side vader that you use to tilt the seat forward to let people into the back seat. I found (and ordered) 52-10-8-146-486 only to find that it looks nothing like the current lever. Anyone know what the old part # for the vader seat lever is?
