I'm thinking Turner copied the part from GC since they've had it for a while. I installed them with new RTAB bushings. You notice them at work most at full throttle acceleration. My mechanic replaced a sensor for the brake (this one is inside the engine bay not inside the passenger compartment) and the problem has been fixed. I sent an email about this to the list a month or so ago and included the part number. If you cannot find it, let me know and I will try and dig up the receipt. Good luck, Mark ZFrom: Shane Kleinpeter Subject: Strange Instrument Cluster BehaviorSo I finally got the M3 back up and running this weekafter some down time and a new problem has immediatelypopped up. Driving into work this morning the ABS and ASC lightsstarting lighting in unison anytime I hit the brakes. Letting off the brakes, they would go out, but after awhile they would flicker on and off. Eventually, theairbag light lit, but would turn off when the car wasmoving. Then it decided to stay on.If I hit the ASC defeat button, the ASC light stayslit but the ABS light continues to flicker. There is also a screeching sound that comes in atabout 3k rpm, but it goes away after a while. Notsure if this is related or not, but is RPM dependent. If anybody has had any similar experience I'd beinterested in hearing it. Otherwise, guesses orspeculation are welcome as well. It's a '96 with about 76k on the clock.I suppose I'll check the ABS sensors when I get home, and maybe swap them out with the ones from the racecar. Incidentally, I hit a patch of ice this morningand ASC worked fine, just as it was supposed to.Shane K. _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!

The front control arm bushings are easy to replace if you have access to a press. I spend $10 at the local auto parts shop to have the stock ones pressed out. But the "lollipop" part comes of reasonably easy with a small puller. Seems like the factory glued on this part with just enough sticktion I needed a small puller. YMMV. I replaced it with the powerflex one that pops in with a vice. Course I think it's already starting to crack.. I do not care about squeeling, excessive dust, etc... My car now is only driven about 5k a year. The car is not towed to events... The R4's IMHO are fine for the street. Many of the other "track only pads" are really abrasive on rotors when cold....so extended street driving is going to eat rotors......THe R4's so far have not done that.... What I'm suggesting is that a few of us could tolerate the street issues with this pad for the track benefits! Hope you understand............. As others have noted there's no good all-use compromise pad, just like "all-season" tires aren't really good at anything. Noise, dust, cold performance, and hot performance just can't all be optimized in the same pad material. The highest step in effort is to switch pads and rotors in the paddock in the morning, and again in the evening before you drive home. This would only be required if you're using a pure race pad with dedicated rotors. I have always used the same rotors all year round (street and track) with no adverse effects, so in real life you can swap just the pads. Once you've done it a time or two you'll get pretty quick at it. Saving time is all about knowing which wrench you're going to grab, and having it ready before you jack the car. If you switch to dedicated tires and wheels for the track, you're already doing about a third of the work. For somewhat less effort and no intrusion on your track-day schedule, switch pads at home in the comfort of your own garage. Stick in the track pads on Friday night while you're doing the rest of your car prep, and switch back to street pads on Sunday. I've had a few occasions when I was too tired Sunday night, or got home too late to switch the car back to its street setup. The guys at the office know not to ride with me to lunch on those Mondays because the Konis are still stiff, and the brakes are still squealing like a cement mixer :-)
