I have the Conforti software in my '96 M3 and now want to get the Conforti cold air intake. For the Californians on the list, will I fail the visual portion of the smog check with that intake? Will I need to put my stock air box back on every other year for the smog check? Thanks, -- Rex Tener rex_tener@yahoo.com

#8. Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement - from Shane Kleinpeter

Date: Thu, 11 Mar 2004 19:30:48 -0800 (PST) From: Shane Kleinpeter <sak335@yahoo.com> Subject: Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement Guys, I blew out a rear wheel bearing on the race car this weekend at VIR and need to replace it so I can go to Road Atlanta next weekend. I decided that since I have two E36's and kill these things with some frequency that it's about time I learned how to replace them. I dropped the $250 on the factory tool, but there are no instructions. Does anybody know how to use this thing and could give me a clue how to use it? Thanks, Shane '96 M3 '94 325 #335 JP __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Search - Find what you’re looking for faster http://search.yahoo.com

#9. RATB Tool and Procedure? - from Johnny Lee
Top
Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 00:25:13 -0500 From: "Johnny Lee" <arionatof@comcast.net> Subject: RATB Tool and Procedure? Hi Folks, I have been debating about changing my RATB soon (98 M3/4, 75K) since the rear starts to feel a little loose. I have been contemplating the RATB tool from Victory Product. From the procedure I read in Rouge Engineering website the process doesn't seem so complicated, but based on input from the list the actual process may vary. I have been trying to find a RATB changing prodecure that uses this tool and I haven't found one yet. I was wondering if anyone can share some experience about it, specially, how much different it is from Bob Tunnell's procedure: http://www.tunnellracing.com/trailbush.html I guess I want to know if there are any surprises or what other additional tools I will need. Do I need to disconnect brake lines, etc? TIA, -Johnny 98 M3/4 75K mailto:mclee@ieee.org

#10. Brake Caliper Rebuild and other Misc Questions? - from Johnny Lee
Top
Date: Fri, 12 Mar 2004 00:31:22 -0500 From: "Johnny Lee" <arionatof@comcast.net> Subject: Brake Caliper Rebuild and other Misc Questions? Hi, I have been noticing some occasional clicking noise from my rear and I thought that something wrong with the chassis but then I realize that it is the brakes. Basically when I stop the car from going at moderate speed (~ 50 mph) to a stop light and when I release my brakes (no fully release, just lift my foot a bit) and I would hear this clicking noise. Sometimes this noise happens even when the car is at stop and I pump the depress the brake pedals. So I am suspecting that I might need to rebuild the calipers ... I was wondering if this is a straightforward process. I guess I will need to flush the brake fluid afterward also. My other questions are related to Inspection 2. Is changing the spark plugs and fuel filter a no-brainer? Do I just get a 16mm spark plug socket and just follow the Bentley? Never done those two steps before ... TIA, -Johnny 98 M3/4 75K mailto:mclee@ieee.org
