I don't recall John's original request stipulating "independent" either. Regards, Rich - agree independent is a good idea if the dyno operators know what they are doing...

Some moron backed into my car just enough to break a piece off the passenger side tail-light and put a very small dimple in the metal skirt that fits between the tail-light and bumper cover. So if anyone has take-offs from their sedan, from upgrading to clear or smoke lenses, I need the right rear, but will take both. email me off-line to keep the noise level down at melsilva@mindspring.com Thanks, Mel Houston, TX M3/4 (Penny) www.MelSilva.net

#8. Shipping a differential: what is required to do so? - from Msebmwman@aol.com
Top
Date: Mon, 15 Mar 2004 23:47:07 EST From: Msebmwman@aol.com Subject: Shipping a differential: what is required to do so? Has anyone here shipped an E36M3 differential from an E36M3 to somewhere else in the US? What is required? i.e. How much does it weigh? Do I have to empty the diff fluid out of the differential to ship it? Who could I get to package it up and in what type of packaging would it be packaged? I'm contemplating shipping an old diff elsewhere and need to know how easy or complicated this would be. Thanks, Marc 95M3 with 3.46 diff now.....

You probably don't have to empty the diff, but you'll pay a little more due to the weight. The diff, packed in a wooden crate, weight 108 lbs. Shipping was, umm, not cheap. I think I paid $130 to ship it from IN to CA. (bummer that the diff was sold to me as completely functional and ended up being totally crunchy inside, huh?) - Mark ----- mark@pdc-racing.net
