Depending on the curing process, you may be able to wax the paint. The body shop I've used bakes the paint to cure it. I can wax from day one (and when I get the car back there is usually wax on the paint). -Justin -- '76 02 '97 m3 bmw cca checkout http://www.bmw2002.net

Empty the fluid out of the diff. If you don't, and it turns over, the fluid will seep out the weep hole. Next, buy one of those big Rubbermaid tubs at Home Despot or Lowe's. Put some packing material in the bottom, put in the diff, then fill with more packing material (newspaper or bubble wrap). Duct tape the hell out of that sucker and bring it to FedEx ground. Cheaper than UPS and no surcharge for being over 50 lb. Shane K. <--shipped many-a-diff- looking for one for an E36 right now (any ratio LSD will do) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? #4. Front turn signal needed - from Newman, Christopher
Top
Date: Tue, 16 Mar 2004 10:23:32 -0500 From: "Newman, Christopher" <CNewman@LSAC.org> Subject: Front turn signal needed Someone mentioned their need for a tail light, but does anyone have an original-equipment orange/amber turn signal in good condition that they are willing to part with ? (Perhaps you swapped out your original turn signals for clear/white ones). The specific need is for a driver-side front turn signal for a 96 M3 coupe, although I believe any E36 3-series turn signal will work as long as it's from a coupe and not a sedan or convertible. Please let me know if you can help out. Thanks.

#6. Steering Rack - from Stan.Shaw@Excell.Net
Top
Date: Tue, 16 Mar 2004 11:35:01 -0500 From: <Stan.Shaw@Excell.Net> Subject: Steering Rack Is there a simple way to tell if the steering rack has too much play due to wear? I just noticed on my 145k miles '96 M3 that I seem to have a slight amount of play when turning the steering wheel to the left. I looked at the lower control arm rear bushings, and am surprised that they look ok. I would appreciate any diagnostic techniques for determining which components are worn. The shocks, springs, strut bearings and wheel bearings were all replaced within the past 20k miles. Thanks! I don't recall John's original request stipulating "independent" either. Regards, Rich - agree independent is a good idea if the dyno operators know what they are doing...
