As an aside, I filled up a few months ago when I was running on fumes at a Sh*tgo and the car ran like sh*t as soon as I left the station. Pinged and everything. This was before a track event! DOH! I drove slowly and didn't go WOT for the whole tank (didn't even want to consider those octane boosters) and then filled up on 93 at my regular place. It ran a bit better, but still sucked ass. So on the way to the track, I ran it down to near empty and luckily I had a can of the BG44 (or whatever it's called) in the trunk. Dumped it in and it did the trick. Hard pulls, no pinging. YAY! YMMV, Chester =====

Marc, I have TC Kline's TrackLine kit springs (two H&R Sport and two Race springs) on my '95 M3. The max even negative camber is -2.2. One of the sides (forgot which one) could go -.4 higher, but I wanted to keep them even. HTH, alex f

When you lower an M3, you gain neg camber. I have bilsteins, eibachs (lowers front 1") and Kmacs and I can get a little over 3.7 deg neg camber. -Bobby '98 M3 ----- Original Message ----- From: <alex.fadeev@verizon.com> > > Marc, > I have TC Kline's TrackLine kit springs (two H&R Sport and two Race > springs) on my '95 M3. > The max even negative camber is -2.2. I do recall reading about the terminal jumping before, and I can probably find a local club member or shop with a reset tool. I plan on changing my oil soon, but if NOT resetting the lights has no negative consequences, I may just wait until an upcoming inspection or event where a reset tool is handy. If anyone knows for sure whether NOT resetting the lights is bad, I would be interested in hearing from you. Thanks again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: Jim Bassett [mailto:jim@jimbassett.com] Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2004 5:52 PM To: Newman, Christopher; E36M3 Subject: Re: [E36M3] Service Interval Lights revisited At 01:50 PM 3/23/04, Newman, Christopher wrote: >Just curious if NOT resetting the lights will cause problems or not. Resetting the SI lights tells it. There's a couple of easy ways to reset the lights: 1. Search the archives, there's a way to reset them by jumping two terminals on the diagnostic connector; 2. Find someone in your area that has a Peake reset tool and ask them to reset your lights - should take 30 seconds (not counting travel time :-)) Jim Bassett

#8. Ok, this is a little weird... - from DocWyte

So I had the GC hybrid camber/caster plates installed on my '95 M3 a little while ago. I noticed that the front ride height had dropped about 3/4". This apparently is normal, as the cmaber plates aren't as tall as the stock stuff. So today the weather finally cooperates enough for me to get the car up in the air to adjust the ride height back to where it needs to be. Much to my confusion, I had to crank the left front up 10 turns (10mm) more than the right front! Spring perches were in the same place when I started... Put the wheels back on and drove the car around. It feels great. I've measured the car 4 times now and it's totally even left to right, but the spring perch on the left front is 10mm higher than the right front. Somebody help me out here. What's the deal? -josh ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Finance Tax Center - File online. File on time. http://taxes.yahoo.com/filing.html

I am not sure if this is your problem, just my SWAG but our cars do not sit level in their stock configuration. The left side always sits a little higher than the right so if you set the ride height so that it is even all around with the car unloaded, it would not be "correct".
