On both the M3 and 325 with Euro lights, I needed to aim just a bit higher than before for best results. Upgrading to Hella 100w bulbs doesn't hurt either. **** Here's my experience with ZKWs and their Euro brethren. First, aiming is indeed critical. Second is the desperate fight to overcome being American. That's right, you're American and it's all your own darn fault :) Just like everything else on the planet. DOT lights, as in the stockers, throw a pretty significant amount of light upwards on purpose. Why? To illuminate overhead signs on freeways while you are whizzing along at 75mph. Wouldn't want to miss that exit to Gatorland for want of some light on the signage, don't ya know. In Yirrup, the signs are smaller, lower and over there on the side of the road with the goats and retreating French army. They also have those frickin bicycle riding scum all over the place, not to mention the towns, that the Germans forgot to blow to hell, are all very quaint and crowded together. I imagine that the populace would get tired of having lights shine in their windows in "Darby on the Shire in the Firth of Forth" or some other assinine continental name. And the Germans..... At least their Autobahns meander, can't blind oncoming traffic. Only the railroads are built straight to Paris, the better to move the armor in every couple of decades ;) BTW, aren't they overdue??? So all-in-all, lights here are built to illuminate different things than Euro lights. And the sooner you get over watching Jerry Springer and get used to those zkwS, THE BETTER! Zeig Heil! Upgrade the 7.5 amp fuse to 10 amps since the 7.5 amp fuse is right at the current of a 100 watt bulb. The wiring can handle the 10 without problem. The 100w draws max current of a 7.5 fuse but won't blow regularly. 2. Upgrade the internal wiring to the high temp set from Eurosport (I think that's where they make them) so the higher temps don't cook the regular wiring. Upgrading the 325 bulbs will require a little more effort and some new wiring. The same wire on those carries the current to both high beam lights and I'm not comfortable replacing the 7.5 with a 20. From the wiring tables, the size wire they use is ok for 20 amps in free air but not in a bundle. Since the lights in the M3 are independent, not a problem. None of the glare issues involved with regular lights when you have projectors. ProjectorZ on the Z Series would work well too.

The construction and in some cases, the light patterns of the Taiwanese lights are not as good as the German ones. I've had a set of ZKWs for almost three years now, they are great. Construction is good, and they have a nice sharp cutoff. I've had a couple of minor issues: 1) I had to replace the head light seal, the moisture behind the glass was driving me crazy. Though the replacement gasket from BMW is thicker and has eliminated the problem entirely. 2) The tabs for holding the glass to the light body are getting a bit brittle (but that is the product of the lovely NE weather), but I really can't complain. Low beam does take some getting used to, but the actual pattern is nearly identical (except for the higher right side cutoff) as an early E46 with the xenon lights (I compared them side by side). The only obvious difference is the lack of the xenon lights. The 55W bulbs lack a little bit and I figure I'll go xenon at some point in the future. Getting them adjusted properly is critical. It is easy to end up too low or too high. I still think it is worth every penny to get a set of those lights. The E36 american lights are just horrible. I think it says something when I could get into my girlfriends geo prism and find that the stock headlights had a much better pattern than the stock american headlights in my E36. The parking light feature is of course a city light, though some people have used them like a day time running light with higher wattage bulbs. -Justin -- '76 02 '97 m3 bmw cca checkout http://www.bmw2002.net

Meaning their kit only covers 3 inch of the hood and mine goes up about 18 inches. YOu can barely see it when the car is waxed, I also have the front bumper done. I highly recommend looking for a person in your area that can do a custom wrap for the car, it will provide better coverage and will most likely cost about the same.
