That's what I use between my jack saddle and jack plate and the jack stands and the car. The Steve D jack stands are nice, but in looking at them I can't see why they'd cost $100 each. There's no exotic materials used or special design features... Four of those jacks and an ASE jack from him would cost $700+. That's well on the way to either a hydraulic scissor lift or a two post lift... -josh --- Jason Knight <knight2244@yahoo.com> wrote: > I'm thinking that the next step would be to find a > hard rubber that could be used in the same capacity, > but would be less susceptible to marring than wood. > I'm guessing a search at www.mcmaster.com would > yield > something sufficient, but I'm much too engrossed in > the Lakers game to spend the necessary hour that > McMaster-Carr always seems to cost me. > > Jason > ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Look for 34-37 hot. Hmm, that's significantly lower than Toyo's own published spec of 41-43 hot. Have you found some advantage to running that much lower pressure? Neil 96 M3

Interestingly, James Clay from Bimmerworld recommended lower pressures - 29 cold, then 34-37 hot. Maybe this is due to lower weight on the cars they are running?? Full race suspension? Thoughts? FYI, a few things I neglected to mention - my car weighs about 3300 lbs. with me in it. Camber: front -3.0, rear -2.5 Swaybars: full soft front, full stiff rear Koni SA settings: soft front, stiff rear With H&R sport springs...which are not that stiff Kerry 95 M3 (with 97 3.2L motor) --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? I got mine on a BIMMERFORMS group buy - I really can't stand that forum though. $65 plus shipping. There have got to be less expensive sources out there. I originally wrote: "Flat top stands - I use these and drive on to a couple of short 2X's to initially raise the front for clearance to lift by the front sub-frame. I have four of these and love 'em!" http://www.ultimategarage.com/3000N-1.jpg http://www.ultimategarage.com/acjacks.html from http://www.ultimategarage.com Zach wrote: Well, I agree that these are very nice looking, but it will be a cold day in hell before I spend $400 on a set of jack stands. I'd rather put the money toward a lift. Also, the ultimate garage webpage is just about the worst ever."
