This dials out the understeer just a bit as well. I have mine shaved to an intermediate 6/32nds at Vilven and they go about two years with a mid-life rotation on the rim from inside to outside to even the wear on the shoulder as my suspension is stock. Like Marc says, go with the 235-40X17s next time as this will give you a little better gearing coming off the corners. - Walt Conley ----- Original Message ----- > Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2004 08:29:04 -0700 (PDT) > From: Kerry Tully <bayoubimmer@yahoo.com> > Subject: Need tire pressure advice - Toyo Proxes RA1s > > I have a 95 M3 track car which I will be running a set of Toyo Proxes RA1's > on for the first time. I almost bought Steve D's Jack stands, and then thought twice (the price was too painful!!!) Does anyone know of an alternative source for jack stands with a "flat top"? Thanks Mo 98 M3/4 91 325IX 82 323i (just got my schrick cams & head parts...)

I should be at the Lexington meeting on the 11th. I'd recommend getting the TSE in a heartbeat. I love mine. Now waiting on the JC Euro HFM(shipped and on its way), underdrive pulleys(backordered), Swaybarbarians(backordered) and Strutbarbarian(coming soon) from UUC to go with the TSE, tranny mounts, Evo 3 SS, and Magnum Rob Knob. BTW, it's a lot of fun to intentionally make the exhaust louder when slowing to stop or just driving at slower speeds. Like this morning at 12:30am coming home from playing poker. My wife said I woke her up from down the street. Hehehe Regards, Dan

Came with the car, so the choice was easy for me. I hate exhausts that drone at any cruising speed. You cannot hear this one at cruising throttle with the windows up. Now you fold down the rear seats and put the windows down and mash the throttle, and it's all worth it. I've had Bimmer guys come up to me at autocrosses and track days and tell me how sweet the sound is. Pricey, probably heavy, tip is oval and a bit burnished gold tint (ain't pretty), but it's the only exhaust that I've heard on an M3 that I would buy for daily use. This is on a '95, and your results may vary, etc... Now with the Jim C euro intake, both ends of the car match in intensity. Not sure what happened to the "triflo" name: http://www.bbtriflo.com/B&B.htm -Jonathan 95 m3

#10. Toyo RA-1 tire pressures - from JUSTIN GERRY
Top
Date: Fri, 30 Apr 2004 11:49:37 -0400 From: "JUSTIN GERRY" <JGERRY@butchers.com> Subject: Toyo RA-1 tire pressures I second James Clay, 40 psi is too much. You will get better wear/longest life, but if you drop them back to 36psi to 37psi hot (or perhaps slightly less) they will stick better. A friend and I experimented with this yesterday at a track day at NHIS. Upon my friend advice, I kept dropping my pressures back from the usual 41 or so and the grip improved. I stopped somewhere around 36/37 hot. -Justin >> Interestingly, James Clay from Bimmerworld recommended lower pressures - 29 cold, then 34-37 hot. Maybe this is due to lower weight on the cars they are running?? Full race suspension? Thoughts? <<
