To access the ones in the front, you have to cut (or bend open) a couple of hog rings holding a leather flap that covers the screw heads. It has been long enough that I may not remember correctly. Hope this helps. They also help direct air around the tire opening which as you suspected helps reduce front end lift. It's not so much a downforce thing, as a anti-lift and anti-drag countermeasure. Due to the size of the ones on the M3, I would guesstimate the benefit being closer to 0.002 Cd. Been there, designed that, windtunnel tested, got the t-shirt.... well, ok there was no t-shirt. Every time I go there on business, I get a laugh out of how they leave protective peel coats & warning stickers on EVERYTHING!!! Doesn't matter if it's a microwave, chair, or automobile, if the mfg stuck it on there, they leave it there until it falls off... I've been tempted to start peeling & see what they do. Heck, when I bought my Aprilia RSV Mille it took me a couple hours just to get a half dozen stupid warning labels off. One even warned me it was a "High Performance Motorcycle" and I could be injured if not careful... lawyers. -- Roger Zack Steinkamp <edsarkiss@yahoo.com> wrote: >i was driving with a friend in his 3 year old nissan pathfinder. i was getting bored in the passenger seat, so i started picking at this giant yellow "CHILDREN CAN BE DECAPITATED BY AIRBAGS..." sticker on >the glove comparement. > >he totally freaked out on me -- he was convinced that sticker was the key to his car preserving its resale value. he felt the sticker was good for a few hundred bucks when he traded the thing in. > >hmmmmmmmmm..... > >

Of course, his cell phone annoyed me the most since that was the only thing I ever saw. Every time he got a new one I would peel it off when he wasn't looking...BAHAHAHAHA! A certain Stephen Lafredo was like that and he probably didn't notice it when I peeled off his blue painters tape off his JTD strut brace indicating which side was left and which side was right. ;) Chester > -----Original Message----- > From: Roger Baker [mailto:RogerBkr@netscape.net] > > They're like that in China too. My door panels were junk after about 75K...you must hide the car from the sun a little better than I do. Similar experience as I approach 150K - just had my first major repair in replacing a leaky steering rack. Otherwise just wear items (which include the cooling system, of course) and routine maintenance.
