You can take your wheel to an upholstery shop and have them make the rim beefier and rewrap it in leather tho... -josh --- Roy Kao <bimmerphile@hotmail.com> wrote: > Date: Thu, 24 Jun 2004 18:07:31 -0400 > From: "Roy Kao" <bimmerphile@hotmail.com> > Subject: Speaking of '99 3 spoke airbag steering > wheels... > > Since we're on the topic of steering wheels, I've > always wondered if there's > a way to swap the wheel from my '99 M3 with the E39 > 540i Sport Package > steering wheel. > > It's basically the same 3-spoke design but has a > much more heavily padded > rim that feels great in the hands. > > My folks have a '00 540i Touring Sport and it has > this wheel and I love it! > > If someone tells me that it'll work on the M3 no > problem, I'll have to start > looking for it! > > TIA. > > -Roy > '99 M3/2 > > _________________________________________________________________ > MSN Toolbar provides one-click access to Hotmail > from any Web page – FREE > download! > http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200413ave/direct/01/ > > > > ************************************************* > Please help support the E36M3 list by visiting our > sponsors: > > Bimmerworld http://www.bimmerworld.com > Turner Motorsport http://www.turnermotorsport.com > Eurosport High Performance > http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com > Rogue Engineering http://www.rogueengineering.com > > DIGEST INFORMATION: > http://www.bmw-m.net/resources/digest_info.htm > ************************************************* > > > ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Date: Thu, 24 Jun 2004 22:33:08 -0400 From: Brent Parks <Bparks@fas.harvard.edu> Subject: BMW owner once again (and stealer bitchin) Well, I bought a 96 328is Monday. What a difference, haven't owned one in a couple years after the M3, and then had the Jetta which wasn't exciting at all to me. I'm glad to be back, I'm now living north of Boston so if anyone is around that area and wants to do a wash day on saturdays or something let me know. On another note, why the hell do BMW dealers charge above the list price that BMW sets? I called for the brushed aluminum shift knob for a BMW dealer up here and they told me it would be $120 when list is $90. I called Circle BMW and they sold it to me for $70. Does anyone know of a dealer up here that doesn't like to rape their customers? Also, need to know an independent shop in the area I should use. Thanks, Brent Parks Back in the Saddle Again

#5. 20's on an E36 M3 - from Cody McCoy

Maybe the 19's from an E46. 20's? Why not chrome it out and put Sprewell's (spinners) on it too. #6. ASA Wheel info wanted - from scott noltensmeier

Date: Fri, 25 Jun 2004 07:45:37 -0700 (PDT) From: scott noltensmeier <snoltens@yahoo.com> Subject: ASA Wheel info wanted Thanks to Bavarian Motorsports, I found out before the accident that two of my well enjoyed (by a previous owner) BBS wheels are cracked and need to be replaced, ASAP. Does anyone have any experience with ASA wheels? It is my understanding that they have a license to use BBS technology. Cost is a factor -- since I need to fix some suspension issues as well. Suggestions/options welcome. I live in SF area. Fyi... I plan to have two (not-cracked/but well worn) 18" BBS monbloc wheels 4 sale. Let me know if your interested. Thanks, Scott E36M3 96' -- 120K

I have a set of AR1's on my E36 M3 17x8. With tires they are 1/2 lb heavier than the stock wheels. The quality is great since it is a BBS designed wheel. Basically all ASA is BBS's cheap wheel company. They look great on my M3! I am going to get an extra set for track tires later on. Gary Pro Bike
