Since installing the suspension components listed in this thread, I have also installed M3 front brakes, and 96M3 sway bars. The M3 rear brakes and trailing arms are going in as soon as I can source one more M3 axle (long story...) Good luck! I traced the problem to the backup light switch, but my version of the ETK doesn't show a part number for it. Its shown on the (group?) 23 drawing, along with other "23" prefix parts, but there is not a part number for the switch. Can someone help me out with the part number and also tell me if there is any trick to replacing it? It looks like I should be able to get a deep socket over it, or at least an open end wrench. Mine is only leaking during track sessions street driving is fine and compression tests just fine with the engine warm. After 20 minutes on the track though, the car overheats and after cooling there is a fine film of oil floating on top of the coolant in the reservoir. I just emailed Turner Motorsport about this very question, which head gasket to use. Doug Mahar's response was "We only recommend the OEM gasket.". Any reason you guys want to go with an aftermarket piece? Regards Jamie Howton

I don't have any how-to advice to offer, but do hope you'll document whatever you find. The need for head gasket replacement isn't that uncommon on our cars, so it would be nice to have a BTDT resource, and it sounds as if you're elected! Some rambling thoughts/questions about cylinder head refreshing in general: Victory Product Design offers an inexpensive ($55) valve spring compressor for our cars, see: http://victoryproductdesign.com/tools_main.htm at the bottom of the page. Somebody did mention recently that when they replaced their lifters they also put in new carriers - the TIS calls them 'bearing ledges' - the long machined casting, one each side, into which the lifters are inserted. This part wears to fit its lifters, so the theory is that with new lifters it makes sense to have new carriers. Sounds reasonable. I've been told that there was a running design change on the intake valves at some point, involving concentric rings on the valve head which somehow improve flow or turbulence, or maybe they just enhance pleasure for the cylinder head! I've often wondered about the light weight titanium valve retainers offered by several vendors. I've heard that they're only suited for racing applications because they wear faster than stock and may require earlier replacement, but don't know if that's true. I think I recall that there's at least one Lister who has these - anyone? BMP sells an uprated head gasket that's popular with racers. It's referred to as a 'cutting ring gasket,' because of the sharp ridges which cut into the aluminum head to make a better seal. I couldn't find it on their web site, but it's in the paper catalog for $200. Neil 96 M3

I want to run the 100W standard bulbs (a touch of white shade would be great). What are my options (lights?) and secondly, what are the modifications I may need to make (wiring/fuse?). Thanks in advance. It came with 'limited' instructions. I am having 'display' issues. As I recall when I first loaded it worked fine, however my resident computer experts have been messin' about. When attempting to look parts up, if I select "Graphical Selection" from the left tool bar the selectable icons cover the extent of my screen and beyond. If I attempt to select from a part type category the graphics cover most of the part number table. Both display anomalies are rendering this package useless. What are the 'display' parameters you folks are using? TIA Kim Burgess

When I got my Euro lights from Josh at Eurosport High Performance, he included some high-temp wiring for splicing into the internal wiring of the headlights to accommodate using 100W bulbs. If they don't handle that anymore (you'll have to call), I *believe* it was appliance wiring with a stainless lug on the end. You'll also need to uprate the low (& high) beam fuses from 7.5A to 10A.
