A bit odd shaped, so I rigged up a tie down system from heavy webbing. Car starts great in the mild CA climate, seems to have plenty of capacity to run the radio though I haven't tested that too far. I definitely disconnect it if I'm not going to drive the car for a month or more. andy r. 98 m3/2

#3. Feeler: Interest in Penny? - from Mel Silva

She is a decidedly rare car being, for one a non-automatic sedan, and two that the car is the Byzanz color with the Lux Package. When I first got this car there were several on the list that told me that if I ever considered selling to let them know. Well here is notice, I'm considering it. You can read all about Penny at www.melsilva.net and current mileage is 45K and change. Is anyone interested or should I just keep her and live with the inconveniences that owning a small car has (like bugging my wife every time I want to go to Home Depot). Mel Somebody shoot me, I'm turning into my father...

The second one :-) But then, I've never bought anything (at Home Depot or elsewhere) that couldn't fit in my M3/4 or Kim's Corolla. >Somebody shoot me, I'm turning into my father... All the more reason to keep it! :-) My 2 cents, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 - 100,000 more miles than Mel's car, not going anywhere (hopefully) 1993 325is #44 JP/A5 - I would sell this first

Date: Sun, 1 Aug 2004 23:39:36 -0400 From: "James Clay" <james@bimmerworld.com> Subject: Re: Bimmerworld Delrin Front Control Arm bushings, Powerflex failures 2 things: We usually recommend drilling the side of the lollypop and tapping for a set screw to press into the circumference of the delrin bushings to keep them from rotating. You should be able to tighten them up and keep them in place, but for track use or when alignment is critical, this is errorproof. Delrin is slippery which is good, but it wants to spin on the outside also. The old centered Powerflex bushings with the 4 holes around the center hole had issues. We worked with powerflex on an updated design (2 piece, purple and black) that got rid of the failure points. We took ours off the shelf and destroyed them immediately and issued a recall to anyone that bought them, but I know other retailers let them run out and replaced them with new stock as it came in. Hard to pitch $1k in stock, but not as hard as blowing a track weekend because of a known problem… And there have been zero problems with the new style. Date: Mon, 2 Aug 2004 08:33:51 -0400 From: "Wayne Miller" <m3@waynemiller.com> Subject: FS: (2) 17X 8 Borbet type E Strangely enough after I read Steve's E-mail about the Borbet Type T's for sale, I remembered that I have 2 Borbet Type E's available. They are similar to the T's and just like Steve I bent the other 2. If anyone is interested, I will let them go for the same $90 ($50 for one)/obo with a local pickup in NJ or NYC. I will even include mounting and balancing tires on them when you pick them up. I used them for years as my E36M3 track wheels and I was very happy with them. -Wayne
