If I am looking at things correctly in the ETK, it also shows that. The Bosch free form lights can be purchased through a few sources. I think Umnitza has them. There were a bunch of debates on bimmerforums about which light had better output. Have not seen them side by side, so I am not sure. Either way, any of the options are much better than the worthless US lights. -Justin -- '76 02 (with Hella H4s and 55/100s) '97 m3 (with ZKWs and HIDs) http://www.bmw2002.net

#5. Widest tire without fender work? - from Mike Neary

Date: Tue, 05 Oct 2004 21:40:32 -0400 From: "Mike Neary" <mcneary@comcast.net> Subject: Widest tire without fender work? What is the widest tire that will fit on an E36 M3 without flaring the fenders? I don't mind rolling them to fit something tho. Its a 9" wide wheel. Is 255 possible? This is for competition purposes so there will be some flex... Thanks, Mike

I bled the brakes with my home made bleeder RR,LR, RF and finally the closest to master cylinder. I am getting good pedal put hear a faint "loss of air" when depressing hard. I don't feel any loss in pedal and it remains firm. The brief sound goes away abruptly. I have yet to test drive it. I don't recall hearing this before, however, may not have paid attention. BTW, I only ran a max of 14 PSI through my bleeder. TIA. Shel 1998 M3 2002 996

And some banging on the inside fender well with a hammer. - Mark, been there, beat the hell out of that ----- mark@pdc-racing.net

They need a spacer up front, and some rolling the inner lip in back. And they do rub a little on the inner rear fender. But they fit. By "loss of air", I assume you're meaning a noise perceptible from the driver's seat. You're probably hearing the bellows from around the master cylinder input rod. They expand and contract when you press and release the pedal, respectively. Mike, I have 255/40-17 Toyo RA1 tires on the stock BMW forged 8.5" rims front and rear. They will fit with some effort as Mark said. You will actually have the least amount of trouble on the front. I doubt you will even need to touch the front fenders. With 9" rims, offset will be the most important factor. You will have to have at least 45 mm offset. However, you will have to run spacers on the front. Aggressive rear fender rolling will be required. In my opinion, you will have to remove the hard rubber "filler" in the fender lip. Some people claim they use an electric heat gun to get the fender warm and the rubber just oozed out when they rolled the fender. But on my 1995 model, it would have taken an acetylene blow torch to get my filler to ooze. I was afraid to burn the paint off before the rubber got soft. Instead, I carefully used a Dremel tool and ground out the filler. Then I wrapped a soft cloth over the head of my 24 oz ball peen hammer and carefully folded the lip down. It sounds barbaric but no paint damage. There was more damage due to the tire rubbing before I got to roll the fenders. Your 9" rims may cause the tire to rub some on the inside fender. I don't have the problem with my 8.5" rims and 41 mm offset. The other important requirement is to run as much negative camber as you can both front and rear. If you have a '96+ model, swap the strut hats or use adjustable camber plates. For '95, you probably need adjustable camber plates or washers at the lower strut bolts. Lowell Seaton '95 M3
