Date: Fri, 15 Oct 2004 09:26:49 EDT From: GGray657@aol.com Subject: Re: [E36M3] Adjusting Sways If you have adjustable bar end links the best way to set the bars is to have the driver or equivalent weight in the car and set the end links so that they have no preload on them, you should be able to line the holes up and slid the bolts in with no resistance at all on both sides. This will give you sway bars with no preload on them. Depending on how you like the car set up will determine the position on the adjuster holes. I run my bar full hard front full soft rear. With zero left/right preload with me in the car. To set it properly you need to have the wheels on ramps or find a muffler shop with a drive on lift and set it on the lift if they will let you, helps to have muffler shop buddy Gary Gray Pro Bike/Pro Bike Cycling Team

What size speakers just drop in replacement for the 95 M3 Nokia rectangular rear deck speakers? 4X6? I know I should get the JL Stealth box things, but that's too much $$ and space to give up. Thanks Jonathan '95 M3

I understand that. But it sounds like we're talking about two different things. I absolutely agree about pre-loading the suspension in order to set the adjustable end link length (BTDT). But once that is done initially (or you don't have adjustable end links), all we're talking about is making the swaybar stiffer/softer. You're just moving the end link attachment location to the swaybar from one hole to another. I can't see how that significantly changes the end link length (thus no need to pre-load), or how changing the swaybar stiffness is affected by suspension loading. Again, the example of my race car's R swaybar. I tend to adjust it occasionally, usually softening it one hole on one side depending on track conditions/driver ability <g> and back again. No adjustable end links in the rear, and I do this with the suspension unloaded. Seems to work, as I can tell the difference in roll from one setting to the next. But then again, I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night :-) Jim Bassett

I am trying to install a Blaupunkt Toronto to replace the HK head unit. I got everything wired up and the head unit has power and things seem to work, but I have no sound coming out from the speakers. I was told how to wired up the factory amp by routing the power antenna lead from the head unit there doesn't seem to have power coming out of that lead. Hope anyone has had experience installing this unit. Thanks in advance. -Johnny M3/4 90K -- mailto:mclee@ieee.org

(The IFG stock finish is horrible) I have 2 IFG 17x8 ET41 and 2 IFG 17x9 ET 42.5 wheels for sale. These are like new, straight as an arrow, no curb rash, no nothing! Wheels only, I'm going be keeping the tires. These are true forged wheels. They weigh 17.5lbs each. They'll fit any E36 3 series and most E46 3 series cars. I'm interested in trading fro Kosei 17x8.5, SSR Comp 17x8.5 or 17x9, looking to go non-staggered for my auto-x setup next year. Pics available on request. Make reasonable offer for the wheels. Ie, not $600 shipped!

I had two codes recently: F5 Secondary air system flow too low. Cyl#1-3 F6 Secondary air system flow too low. Cyl#4-6 I have reset the codes, and will see if they reoccur.
