Hardest thing was getting the wire secured under all the clips especially between the engine and firewall. I don't have petite hands! Does anyone know whether the CE light will go out after so many "cycles", or will I need to have it reset??? Also, Neil...thanks for the tip on where to buy the O2 sensor $92.00 / free shipping / arrived next day ...worked out great! TIA, -- Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA BSP Champ '01 and '02

Does anyone know whether the CE light will go out after so many "cycles", or will I need to have it reset??? I'm not sure if it's fault-dependent, but the CE should go out after a few start cycles with the fault no longer present. That has been my experience, anyway. But it would be easier to just reset it (assuming you have access to a reset tool). Jim Bassett

Also, there are products that you spray in the ducts and let sit: http://www.carcareonline.com/detail.asp?product_id=11310 Chester --- rickd <rickd@swfla.rr.com> wrote: > Does anyone have a suggestion for curing the problem of odor producing > organisms in the AC system? =====

Guess I forgot to digest to Plain Text from HTML... In any event, anyone remember who was selling the single 10-spoke takeoffs in 7 and 8.5 widths? I can't find the link. Thanks in advance.

#7. ECU dealer upgrade version Question - from Patrick Goss - PA
Top
Date: Tue, 19 Oct 2004 16:56:24 -0400 From: Patrick Goss - PA <Patrick_Goss@GMACM.COM> Subject: ECU dealer upgrade version Question On the OBD2 cars is there a way for the do-it yourselfer to check and determine what software revision you have? For example, I got my car used, I know it was dealer serviced previously (leased car) and had some upgrades or reflashes as they call them. I just don't know which ones it has, or if it has the latest and greatest. I assume since the e36 is out of production, you'd basically like to confirm it has the youngest upgrade? I do confirm the cold start stumble and am not sure if it has ever been addressed via the dealer software upgrade. My question.... is there a way for me to determine what I have sans dealer? If I can determine what I have, what version, (assuming there is numerical code give to it), would I want? Knowing what I have may certainly prevent unnecessary expense and a trip to the stealer :) Apparently this all becomes an issue if you are having your ECU reflashed by an aftermarket tuner I understand as they go on top of what the dealer has. Therefore in essence If I pay $$$ coin to have it upgraded, I better make sure I have the latest dealer one installed as if I ever have to take it back to the dealer for a future reflash, well I perhaps stand to loose the tuner one. Make sense? Any advice on this subject? Patrick Goss 97 Hellrot E36m3/4

Shephard" <kents@kls-consulting.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] ECU dealer upgrade version Question Hi, Does it have the additional sticker (EPA certification) indicating the ECU upgrade? Mine has the sticker. My car also does not exhibit any cold start problem. I do live in Ca. so it's never really "that" cold. Even if the dealer reflashes you don't lose the after market software. You can always reflash with the Shark Injector. It gets married to the SN of your ECU the first time you use it.
