I'm installing Powerflex bushings and they don't appear to have The flange orientation is crucial only for the stock type bushing since in order to extract the next time, there has to be an slot for the leg of the puller to push against. So it will make more sense in lubing up the metal sleeve since the bracket clamps to that and turns the sleeve in the halves. Also, if your sleeve is narrower than the two halves installed in the trailing arm, it would make sense to lube the outer part where the bracket contacts to urethane. Chester =====

In order to set the timing correctly in this situation you really need a dial indicator to set the engine at TDC. I tried without and ended up redoing it because the timing was off, you just cannot get it close enough by looking at the markings on the harmonic balancer. I rented the tools from Brett Anderson @ Koala motorsports for $75, he included everything needed. Regards Jamie Howton

Out of everthing that I have done (other than driving schools!) it made the biggest noticeable difference in the car. DO it! Enjoy. When I did my E30 M3 it was $200. For better drivability it was worth it. For my E36 I don't have any cold start problems. For those that have done the swap and removed the baffle from the airbox; what is the seat of the pants evaluation? Kent
