It not my primary vehicle, but its my favorite, so yeah it gets driven most of the time.... The AA kit has an oil cooler for the supercharger and it's a separate sump, so it doesn't use the engine oil like the dinan SC. With an intercooler/supercharger oil cooler, I am not going to have much room for an engine oil cooler, although I think it's a nice idea. Been toying with the idea of ordering one of the cooling refresh packages out there, (pump rad hoses, metal housing etc, fluid), but they come with the standard radiator. Might just do the aluminum radiator before next summer... -----Original Message----- From: Neil Maller [mailto:neil.maller@gte.net] Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 1:20 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Re: Cooling System Re-Freshen Date: Tue, 26 Oct 2004 12:18:21 -0500 From: Neil Maller <neil.maller@gte.net> Subject: Re: Cooling System Re-Freshen on 10/26/04 11:19 AM, Patrick Goss - PA <Patrick_Goss@GMACM.COM> wrote: > Installing a AA supercharger and am at least planning replacement of the > plastic thermo housing with the metal one, at only 21 bucks at > bimmerparts.com its cheap insurance. You don't say where you live (high ambient?) or what kind of driving your car will see (track?), but with the impending supercharger I'd be thinking about total cooling capacity. Couple that to the miles on your car and serious consideration of a new radiator, preferably aluminum and high capacity, is in order. And maybe an oil cooler. I am also about to do a cooling system reinstall (new zionsville aluminum radiator, thermo, housing, water pump, belts) and didn''t even think about the hoses. Are these good silicon hoses? Where can I buy them? Thanks! ted

I plan to eventually have at least a half cage if not a full cage installed and at that time, I will go for a 5- or 6-point harness. That's why my initial inclination is go with the Sparco Evo2 shells as I've been in it before and they're comfortable for my size 44 frame. In the narrower seats like an OMP, my hip bones feel like they're going to get crushed in a turn! I've been in several other seats and the only other option that is tolerable is the Recaro Pole Position, but even that's a bit narrower than the Evo2. Did you know there is an Evo3 now? That is another inch or so wider than the Evo2 shell. Never tried a Momo seat before. Hmm, ok, so are these worth it then or just stick with stock hoses to go with the aluminum radiator? I might take my car to a track day or two and maybe even auto-x, but not sure if those would benefit me in any other way. ted
