Unfortunately, I don't know the answer to THAT question :-) I think that was discussed previously here, though (beware: poor memory at work :-)). Maybe check the archives? The main question would be how much of the wiring harness you'd have to add to change over to power seats. The seats themselves have the motors & switches, it's just getting power to the seat that would be the issue. This doesn't really sound like a loose connection to > me. Could this be a sign that some element of my HID hardware is > dying? I doubt that's it, since each HID assembly presumably has its own independent electronic starter, and it doesn't seem likely they'd fail in a similar way at the same time. Because your problem affects both lights, I'd guess they're not getting enough voltage to start. Two possible causes spring to mind: i) Your battery is on its way out and not holding a charge. After the car sits for 8-10 hours battery voltage is low, and the HIDs lights won't start. They work fine after you shut the car down because the engine has been running and the battery is now recharged. b) Burned contacts in the headlight relay causing a high resistance and so lowering voltage to the lights. (Question: does a car with factory HIDs use a different headlight relay to handle the inductive load of these lamp assemblies?) If my initial presumption of two independent ballasts is wrong, then that component could be failing. Neil 96 M3

I have one of those "leather credit" M3s, and the M color stripes are on the headrests rather than the seat backs (which I happen to like better anyway). :-) My 2 cents, Jim Bassett ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.
