#3. JTD Rear Strut Bar a Question... - from Patrick Goss - PA

Date: Tue, 16 Nov 2004 17:00:54 -0500 From: Patrick Goss - PA <Patrick_Goss@GMACM.COM> Subject: JTD Rear Strut Bar a Question... Question for anybody who is currently using this.... http://store.yahoo.com/jtdesigns/higperrearst.html Can it be removed easily leaving both plates on top of each shock tower? The design from the pics above looks like the pre-load adjuster (threaded rod) appears to be only on one end, and if so you'd have to remove at least the opposing end plate. If the preload threaded rod and sandwich nuts are indeed mirrored on each side, is there enough room to loosen and recess the rod pieces into the center bar so that you can squeeze the entire thing out between the hats while they remain secured to the top of the rear shock? Keeping in mind the versatility of the folding rear seats in the coupe and 4 door, when you put in track tires, or German beer kegs :) Patrick Goss E36M3/4, Brace-less

#5. M3 Power Locks - Trunk - from Shane Kleinpeter

Date: Tue, 16 Nov 2004 17:58:04 -0800 (PST) From: Shane Kleinpeter <sak335@yahoo.com> Subject: M3 Power Locks - Trunk A while ago I posted that I could unlock the trunk from either of the doors, but I couldn't unlock the rest of the car from the trunk. Several of you suggested that I check the trunk wiring at the bend for cracks in wiring. Well sure enough, two wires were completely severed and two others were on their way. About 30 minutes of work (soldering, taping) and it's all fixed. At least it was a cheap fix. Thanks to all. Shane K. '96 M3 '94 325i #335 JP/#76 ITS __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? #6. Shuddering noise... - from docwyte@comcast.net

Date: Wed, 17 Nov 2004 02:15:26 +0000 From: docwyte@comcast.net Subject: Shuddering noise... Ok, This noise is beginning to really bug me. Here's the history... Getting a noise the last few feet of braking, kinda shakes the car, groaning noise. If I let up on the brakes, it goes away, hit em again, it comes back. It started pretty much right after I mounted up my 225-45-17 Hakka NRW's on TSW Evo 17x8.5 wheels. I've determined that all calipers are fine and not binding. Ebrake shoes are not binding and are properly adjusted. Wheel bearings are in good shape. I'm wondering if it's the wheels. They're supposedly hubcentric, but since I've pretty much exhausted all else... They're not rubbing at all... -josh
