I did not order my pulley kit from Rogue Engineering. I feel very bad that I said anything negative regarding you or Rogue Engineerinng. #2. Tires - from Shane Kleinpeter

Date: Mon, 6 Dec 2004 08:31:49 -0800 (PST) From: Shane Kleinpeter <sak335@yahoo.com> Subject: Tires You might want to take your car in for an alignment unless you have, and know how to use, toe plates. I would guess that you are running too much toe in the rear. The right side tire is more worn because the limited slip differential sends the power to the right wheel in greater proportion than the left. Rotate side to side to even out the wear if you don't have directional tires. Otherwise you'll have to live with it :-( Shane K. There aren't many super-great options in the area. But, I have heard through the grapevine(never any personal experience) that Princeton is not the best place to go for service. And, I can tell you, from personal experience, that you should stay as far away from Flemington as possible. I've had numerous terrible experiences with them, in service and parts. I realize you asked about places in Princeton and South, but if you ever head up to the Somerville area (up 206) Then about 10 or so minutes west of there, on Route 22, is a great dealership, called Hunterdon BMW. Depening on which side of Princeton you're on it's not too bad of a trip. Their number is (908) 236-6302. I'm not affiliated in any way. I've just had great experiences there, and they don't mind seeing my e36 with a roll bar, etc. So, I figured I'd pass it on. Hope it helps. -Geoff Atkinson '95 M3 '89 LSB M3 2.3 etc. Date: Sun, 5 Dec 2004 17:42:44 -0500 From: "Peter H Reinhart" <reinhart@neuro.duke.edu> Subject: Recommendations for 60K service in PA/NJ? Just relocated to the Princeton (NJ) area and need to have a 60K service (E36M3) done. I've called Princeton BMW three times so far and have been told all of the 'Service' reps are busy and will call me back. To this day no callbacks, so Princeton BMW is off my 'preferred dealer' list. Does anyone know of a good dealer in the Princeton to North-Philadelphia area? Preferably one who doesn't get that worried look on his face if an M3 with a roll-bar, fire-extinguisher, and rattling brake pads rolls up? Peter '98 M3

However, I'll take DEAD cats, as all I'm really looking for are the down tubes. SF Bay Area preferred, but will consider an out of the area cat, if you remove and ship only the tubes. It's either an Inspection I or II; there is no III (3). :-) If you have either a Bentley or the original Service and Warranty Manual that came with the car, the service items are listed in both. > What are some other things that I should look at or preemptively replace due > to common failure. In terms of just regular maintenance stuff, spark plugs? microfilter? every 1-2 years on brake fluid should be OK. Otherwise, looks like you've been fairly comprehensive (good job :-)). I'd have a look at RSMs, rear toe bushings, control arms and control arm bushings, guibo, wheel bearings. Those are some of the "common" failure/high-mileage repair points - if you've already addressed them, nevermind :-) That's all I can think of off the top of my head (admittedly, more foggy than usual :-)) Jim Bassett ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.

#10. Brief 25 Hours of Thunderhill Recap - from twisty M3
Top
Date: Mon, 06 Dec 2004 12:32:11 -0800 From: "twisty M3" <twistym3@hotmail.com> Subject: Brief 25 Hours of Thunderhill Recap << Jim Bassett - exhausted (pun intended :-)) from the 25-Hour Enduro >> Ditto that in a big way! I don't know how I managed that 7 hour drive home yesterday... in my rental Toyota Echo (capable of 80 plus up the Grapevine, btw), but I slept through my alarm this morning and got myself an accidental extra 3 hours of sleep because of it. Almost making up for only sleeping 20-30 minutes during the 32 hour period. ;) This year's race was MUCH better than last year. Just about everyone played nice, with only a few exceptions. The Mini Jim and I drove actually ended with all body panels in place this time around, which wasn't the case last year. Jim had a love tap out on track, but nothing that did major damage. I somehow managed nothing but green flag laps during my 5 hours or so, which was pretty incredible. We managed (just barely!!!) a second place finish in class, which made us all EXTREMELY happy, if not downright stressed out. That last hour gave us all more grey hairs. It was almost fun trying to gauge the pit strategies of the car we were duking it out with for 2nd place... *Almost* fun. ;) BMWs involved did pretty darn well. An E1 E36 (I think it was a 325 or 328, but I'm so groggy I really can't remember for certain... could've even been an M3) got 5th place overall, which is astounding! Although I don't like the fact that it beat us, an E30 318 won our E3 class and only had to stop for fuel and drivers changes. We had one wheel hub to change, got towed in once for running out of fuel while I was driving (we didn't take into account our running time under solid green, as we never even thought of NOT driving under yellow at some point) and Jim "Relay" Bassett got towed in a couple of times for kicking out the fuel relay switch. It was actually pretty funny, and he got a new nickname out of it. Hi Relay! ;) There was also a really nice C-Mod M3 that was going to run (not sure what class it would've been), but it couldn't because of a tech infraction... Outdated belts. :( Major bummer! Otherwise, it was an absolute blast!! Not a drop of rain, and only a bit of ice... but none on track. It was cold, but dry, and that's a good thing. Jonathan L. Survived the 25!
