I would go for either of them. Umnitza is by far the best source. If you email me back individually I can answer any other lighting questions you may have as it's really my area I know a lot about. I have a 2 page FAQ I'd also be happy to send you but I don't want to send an attachment to the whole list. IF ANYONE on this list wants lighting help that's what I'm here for. Does anyone on here have any of these, and would they recommend any particular one (or say beware any of them)? Is Umnitza the best source, or is there another place? Just looking for opinions of owners before dropping the money. Thanks. Pulling: I am aware there are many manufacturers of the pulleys: Rogue, Eurosport, UUC, VAC, Victory Prod Design; does anybody have any experience with any of these while having a Bosch 140 amp alternator with a normal diameter pulley? It seems that Eurosport is the only one to offer a pulley kit with a lighter but same diameter pulley for their kit if you choose. Is the grooving different on any of these pulley kits (and therefore belt) that would not allow them to work with the pulley that is already on the alternator? Thanks again. Does anyone know if it's a real photo or not?? They say it will have the V8 with 389hp ;)) Looks mean as long as they trim some fat! Who would have guessed our E36's were light at 3,100 lbs. I don't have HIDs but the difference was amazing over stock headlights. I've heard Depo are really cheap (Made in China?) quality. I bought my ZKWs from Umnitza. Great service. Pulley: I have the EvoSport pullies and I've had no problems with them. I did the fan delete which is the only mod that I can think of that MIGHT affect the pulley set (JimC programming, exhaust, intake too) but they've been working fine for a couple of years now. I had a problem getting the alt. pulley off so I ran just the other 2 for a week until I could get to some air tools. It ran fine for a week w/o the alt. pulley. EvoSport includes a new belt and it has the same ribs so you can use one stock pulley in a pinch but the length will be different. You're not really replacing the pulleys to save (unsprung) weight as much as to lessen the drag from the engine and accessories. -Bobby '98 M3 > -----Original Message----- > From: Peter Wheeler > > > Lighting: > Are the only HID choices Bosch, ZKW, and Depo? #5. Weird Blinker Problem - from Steve Klein
Top
Date: Sun, 12 Dec 2004 13:47:55 -0600 From: Steve Klein <klein@robinsonad.com> Subject: Weird Blinker Problem Hey, Gang- Last night while driving home, I nervously discovered that when I flip on my left-turn blinker it flashes at about twice the rate as it normally does. Right turn indicator is normal and when I turn on the hazard lights, they both blink at a normal rate. I'm afeared there's a short somewhere that is dumping twice the current into that circuit, heating up the bi-metallic strip in the blinker 'relay' twice as fast, but I'm not certain by any means, which is why I seek wisdom from the group. Any and all help/advice/places to look are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

#8. cd changer dead, need new head unit advice - from Guillermo Molina

Date: Sun, 12 Dec 2004 20:13:18 -0500 From: "Guillermo Molina" <drwillb@msn.com> Subject: cd changer dead, need new head unit advice The changer died. I'd like to take advantage of the situation to get an in-dash aftermarket head unit. I am aware that the factory system is calibrated/equalized at the amplifiers but I am willing to live with a less-than-optimal sound system. I imagine I will need a unit with separate F/R preamp outputs. Should they be 2 or 4 volt? Any other things to look for? Thanks, Bill Molina

After kicking myself for not even considering the possibility, I checked and indeed found out that my front blinker bulb is out. My orifices are unpuckering as I type, and I stand ready to take all the chastising and abuse I deserve. Thanks again, all- Steve Have you checked to see if all the bulbs are working?  If you recently replaced a bulb did you use a silver tipped or brass tipped one?  BMWs needs silver tipped bulbs.   Bruce

Excellent, good to hear you got it fixed. >My orifices are unpuckering as I type, and I stand ready to take all the >chastising and abuse I deserve. Umm, this part wasn't really necessary, was it? :-) Jim Bassett
