#1. tire fitment...need help - from Mdriver13@aol.com

Date: Thu, 06 Jan 2005 11:27:52 -0500 From: Mdriver13@aol.com Subject: tire fitment...need help Group, The TireRack has a great deal on r-compound Pirelli Corsa tires. Only trouble is the size 255/40/17...just a little big (section width listed at 10.3"). "Connor" at the Rack was not too helpful, so looking for opinions on the following: I use SSR Integral wheels 8" wide, -40mm offset, rear fender rolled, rear negative camber fixed at -1.6 degrees, front camber at - 1.8 degrees for street, -3.6 degrees autoxing with 15mm spacers up front. So, will they fit???? TIA, -- Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA

Enjoy the pics, let me know if the links don't work, I'll e-mail you them separately. It's a nice piece, powder coated in black including hardware. This is no hinge (non-wussy) type bar. I can't believe the handling difference this piece made in my M3/4, and I drive in confidence now with no risk of ripping out the rear shock tower, (note the advanced design in pic). I have one of these myself as does a friend of mine on this list. I have one left over which I am offering up for sale to list for what I have in it. First $155 via paypal takes it. I will expect you to pay shipping and the 3% paypal fee which gets deducted each time. Price is right when you consider other more showy alternatives which perform equal or much less due to hinge type design. http://img26.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img26 <http://img26.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img26&image=masonracingengineeringrearstru.j pg> &image=masonracingengineeringrearstru.jpg http://img31.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img31 <http://img31.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img31&image=MasonRacingEngineeringrearstrutb arendbottom.jpg> &image=MasonRacingEngineeringrearstrutbarendbottom.jpg http://img145.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img145 <http://img145.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img145&image=MasonRacingEngineeringrearstru tbarinstalled.jpg> &image=MasonRacingEngineeringrearstrutbarinstalled.jpg Thanks, Patrick Goss 97 M3/4

They rub a little in the rear, but are OK most of the time. The front should be fine. So I think you will be OK if the fenders are rolled some in the rear. I have not heard good things from people (911 drivers mainly) who have tried this tire. They report decent grip, but horrible feel. They say you can feel the tire squirm which makes for a disconcerting feeling with the car moving around at high lateral loads. All 3rd hand info, but I trust the people telling me. Graeme p.s. Why is the Tirerack offering such a good deal? Is it because no-one is buying the tire? That tells you something right there. -----Original Message----- From: Mdriver13@aol.com [mailto:Mdriver13@aol.com] Sent: Thursday, January 06, 2005 9:34 AM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] tire fitment...need help Date: Thu, 06 Jan 2005 11:27:52 -0500 From: Mdriver13@aol.com Subject: tire fitment...need help Group, The TireRack has a great deal on r-compound Pirelli Corsa tires. It was a very close fit and for my car which is primarily a street car, I would rather get 18s if I want to run the PSCs since you can get a non-so-tall tire. Make me an offer. Both are brand new and current unmounted, but if you want, I can easily mount and balance. Chester =====

They were on the front of this commuter (highway miles for about 10-12k) Anyone interested, at $75 for the pair? If you're really interested, I could get you a photo of each. #8. Sparco seats and brackets - from Vern Anderson

Date: Thu, 6 Jan 2005 13:10:58 -0800 (PST) From: Vern Anderson <vernon_anderson@yahoo.com> Subject: Sparco seats and brackets Hello all, I'm going to replace my driver's side Recaro SRD with a one-piece race seat, most likely a Sparco Rev. I may also replace the passenger's side SRD with something else, but most likely will keep it unless someone really wants the SRD's as a set. Does anyone have any experience with a Sparco Rev (or similar Sparco seat) in an E36 M3 coupe? I've tried several Sparco seats and the Rev fits me the best. Also, what brackets work well? I'd like to keep a sliding bracket if possible for co-drivers, etc. I'm currently using the TCKline Recaro bracket on the driver's side, and I like the placement (about 1" lower and 1/2" to the center), but they don't fit the car floor very well and that causes the sliding mechanism to be difficult to adjust. I'd love to find a sliding Sparco bracket with the same placement(lower and towards the center). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Vern Anderson 98 M3/2

Haven't done the pass side yet. Waiting until cage is installed. I used VAC floor mounts and Momo alloy side mounts. No sliders. The VAC mounts are great. I had to drill some different holes in the side mounts to get the seat far enough back because the EvoL uses the widest hole set on the VAC mounts which don't have as much fore/aft adjustability. If a narrower seat was being used it probably wouldn't have been necessary. Thumbs up to VAC.
