Saw that in the install manual. I hate Scotch-lock[tm] connectors.. there is really no better way to destroy the underlying wire you're connecting to than those POS's (sorry - private rant.. I have had to replace several wiring harnesses due to these..) - I'd rather just cut off the BMW connector and splice the wires together with some shrink fit tubing.. but that's me (background a long time ago with electronics..) >b) das blinken lighten. Looks like the place to put it, although the newer BMWs with real factory alarms have the bottom of the rear-view mirror as an LED for the alarm. Nice 'cause it's easy to look out the window and see if you remembered to arm it. >c) the valet or defeat switch which as I previously mentioned is very well >hidden, but easily reachable. What'd I'd really like is for it to turn the interior lights on and perhaps flash the parking lights.. >Mel Thanks much! _______D_o_n__________S_p_r_i_n_g__L_a_k_e__H_t_s____________©1946________ Don Eilenberger, Spring Lk Hts, NJ - http://www.njsbmwr.org/ '98 M3c/5, '03 525iT, '87 K75S

Coat hanger? Stiff wire? Pipe cleaners? Improvise :-) (I'm sure there's suggestions in the archives or at the usual E36 sites.) #5. driverside window not working - from Mdriver13@aol.com
Top
Date: Fri, 14 Jan 2005 14:53:09 -0500 From: Mdriver13@aol.com Subject: driverside window not working Group, Is there a simple reason why my window will not operate. When I press the toggle switch I hear a "clicking" sound emanating from inside the door, but no movement up or down. The window does not even do that little down then up thing when opening and closing the door. Passenger side -- just fine. Are we talking about motor failure here or could the window just be off its track??? Any and all suggestions or comments welcome. TIA, -- Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA

Just chiming in with my 2 cents <g> - I like the look of the factory Euro alarm LED: <http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/interior/e36_euro_alarm_led.html> And taking Mel's lead, I put my garage door opener switch in the blank next to the interior light dimmer: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/images/switch3.jpg Jim Bassett - can you tell I'm bored at work? :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program.

My driver side died half way up. It took both the regulator and the motor to correct the issue.
