However the 96+ cars, which are also OBD-II, have a more restrictive intake manifold which renders the Euro HFM upgrade marginal. Once you do install the larger manifold a less restrictive airflow meter becomes a viable option. Of course you need software to match. The Eurosport cam kit retains OBD-II engine controls, but has also uses a larger airflow meter along with its bigger intake manifold and many other pieces and parts. Going back to the original question (gimme 300hp!), to get to that area it is necessary to have higher flow injectors, typically 24#, which also necessitates appropriate software. Otherwise you'll hit 100% duty cycle at WOT and risk running lean. Once of the things you're paying for in the Eurosport kit or a AA turbo is the development to ensure that all this stuff plays well together. All this time I was thinking that the signal from the Euro AFM was incompatible with the OBDII 'tronics. Remember that I used to work on Fords and right in that time period where most makes switched from Speed/Density to Mass/Air. I had gotten very good at making custom harnesses to adapt the newer Mass/Air CPU and sensors to the older S/D harness. Oh, those were the days... I wasn't married then either so if I spent my entire two weeks of vacation in the garage nobody cared. We have been working with Sunbelt (Our WC engine builder) on these and the design is finished, just need to solve a packaging issue. They are worth at least 12Hp over a Schrick, are streetable, and much easier on the driveline than the Schrick is (you can rev to 7600 versus 6800 for the Schrick on a STOCK valvetrain, really take advantage of that M50 intake). New cam design methods and a super engine builder/ME like Jim at Sunbelt really delivers here. OBDI packaging will come first of course, then WC season hits and you OBDII guys might have to wait a while. That is all the info I am offering now (sorry to tease) but the details are a little uncertain until we figure out the packaging. US E36 M3 S52 turbo, 7k for kit, 350-390 WHP, depends on other mods.. 350 is bone stock I will post my numbers when I dyno my car on the 29th it should be in the 240-250 range without cams. Well if you have a 3.0L and you go to a 3.2L with Cams, the bill will probably approach 10K once you buy the 3.2L, get the cam kit, HFM, injectors, and pay to have it installed. If you already have a 3.2L, the bill is probably around $5K, as the kit is about $4,000 plus the install. --- GGray657@aol.com wrote: > In a message dated 1/18/2005 5:19:44 PM Central > Standard Time, > jeffreywlin@yahoo.com writes: > > Easiest way is drop in a S50B32 (Euro), rated at 321 > DIN HP, or 315 HP, the way we calculate in the US. > For reference here are some wheel dyno #s. > > My E39 M5, completely stock 338 (using California > 91) > My E36 M3 with S50B30 (Euro) 258 > E36 M3 with S50B32 (Euro) 271 > He forgot one SMALL piece of info..it will cost you > some large bills to get > it, around 10k if you don't do the work yourself.... > > US E36 M3 S52 US , with mods costing way less, > 265.... > > US E36 M3 S52 turbo, 7k for kit, 350-390 WHP, > depends on other mods.. 350 > is bone stock > > I will post my numbers when I dyno my car on the > 29th it should be in the > 240-250 range without cams. > > Gary Gray > Pro Bike/Pro Bike Cycling Team > __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
