I run 17x9 SSR Integrals with either 245/40/17 Hoosiers or 255/40/17 Victoracers all around. 15mm spacers up front and 5, 8, or 10 mm spacers in the rear. Rear fender lips are rolled. Usually run 3-3.25 degrees negative camber up front, max in the rear (about -2.0). I run a lot of rear toe-in, so the inside sidewalls rub a little in the rear, but not too bad. Front has never been an issue. Been running that setup for about 4-5 years and over 5-6,000 track miles with no problems. Okay, haven't seen any posts on wheels for a while, so I figure we're about due. ;) I'm looking at getting a new (or new-to-me) set of track wheels, and would like to go a bit wider than what I currently have. I'm on 17x8 BBS RKs for the track currently and would like to move to 9" wide wheels (or 8.5 even) and will only run the same size wheels on all four corners. I'd consider going to 18s, but would probably prefer 17s based on better tire selection. Who's running 9s all the way around, and what did you have to do in front or back to accomodate? My rear fenders are rolled, but I don't mind flaring them a bit if necessary, and I've got -3.5ish degrees camber in front with -2.0 in the rear (H&R Sports and Bilsteins, no coilovers). I haven't paid much attention to what new wheels are available, and the TireRack site only shows 9" fitments with regards to the rear. Thanks, and feel free to send me your "For Sale" emails too. ;) Jonathan L. P.S. Everyone please go out and buy the March 2005 issue of IronMan Magazine, on newsstands now. ;) ;)

If you money shift it doesn't really matter what rpm you're at, you're pretty much going to bend valves. You won't float a valve at 7200, the real worry with that chip will be whether or not the Air/Fuel ratio is correct for sea level as I'm pretty sure Karl tweaked it a bit for my altitude of 5000ft above sea level... -------------- Original message -------------- > Date: Wed, 2 Feb 2005 19:45:06 -0800 (PST) > From: Hunt Hodgetts > Subject: Over Rev / Money Shift question > > I recently purchased Josh's 95 supercharged M3 in > Denver. Shephard" <kents@kls-consulting.com> Subject: Re: [E36M3] Over Rev / Money Shift question Hi, I have always avoided the "money shift" by following one rule. Your palm should always face the gear you want to go to. This means the following (on an E36, E30 etc.) 1-2 Shift requires pulling shift lever down and left. (thumb up) 2-3 Shift requires pushing shift lever up and right. (thumb down) 3-4 Shift requires pushing shift lever down and right (thumb down) 4-5 can be thumb up or down. Pulling in a 3-4 shift with your thumb up has the tendency to want to pull the shifter toward you, possibly resulting in a missed shift. If you think about how your arm moves. If your thumb is inverted the most natural motion for your hand to follow is diagonal away from your body when you move your hand from in front of you, back. My older brother was a drag racer and never blew an engine to a missed shift.
