Speaking of the Ring, does anyone know if it's open to the public in March? I'm guessing that it's too cold to be open, and the official '05 schedule will not be available for a few more weeks. At the very least, a hot lap in the M5 would a trip. #3. Underdrive Pulleys - from KResener@aol.com
Top
Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2005 12:59:56 EST From: KResener@aol.com Subject: Underdrive Pulleys I'm set to install the new radiator and fan delete kit next weekend, and drunk with the idea of incremental power improvements am now pondering underdrive pulleys. What is the general thought on the effectiveness of underdrive pulleys? Those of you that have them, notice any power increase, however slight? Motor rev more easily? Seems that with the fan delete reducing that rotating mass, underdriving the pulleys would be the next logical step in terms of lightening the spinning mass on the front of the motor. Seems like the motor would spool up appreciably faster? Thoughts on whether or not it's worth the money would be appreciated. Thanks! It wasn't as large as 1/4" though, more like 1/8" or less IIRC. Regards -- Jamie Howton 2002 330i 2000 M5 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

The hole in mine is smaller on the thermostat side, but not by much. I'd say 1/8 to 3/16" on the thermostat side and maybe 3/16 to 1/4" on the other side. I can still see some flash, so maybe knock the flash off a little and you should be fine. I did mine with the fan delete at the same time, but it certainly helped. On the factory plastic one it's about 1/8" or so. And I remember seeing the same size on the aluminum one I replaced the factory one with (mine came from BMAparts.com - somewhat less expensive than yours also..) I would guess that it isn't critical. The hole is there to help bleed the system of air.. a smaller hole may pass less air, but in the grand scheme of things - it probably will pass enough air so the system can be bled. You might want to go at it with a 1/8" drill. >TIA. >Bob Gill >97 ///M3 coupe >Philly Region SCCA >2nd Place BSP - PA State Championship 2004 Best,

We stayed at the Ridge Tahoe and skied for a week at Heavenly. About 1 hour drive from the Reno airport. Lift tickets were $58 a day and the skiing was excellent. We didn't bother going anywhere else due to the proximity of the hotel. There are plently of options for hotels in the area and Casinos on the Nevada side in the valley. 10 foot base and excellent grooming each night made for a great week. The last day we tried snow boarding and my wife broke her wrist. It takes a good couple days to get the hang of it and I'd reccommend a helmet... Shel

#10. SOT: RFID Toll Tag Mounting - from Raza Uddin

Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2005 17:44:43 -0800 From: Raza Uddin <raza.uddin@gmail.com> Subject: SOT: RFID Toll Tag Mounting I finally got around to getting a FasTrak transponder for my commute and was wondering if anyone has found a good mounting spot for any toll RFID tag. I don't want to have to mount the tag on my windshield if I can find a suitably hidden mounting spot that doesn't interfere with scanning of the tag at the toll booth. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance! Drive Safely, Raza
