Great spot for the FasTrak reciever to read, and it doesn't block forward vision since it's behind the review mirror. (keep it under 50 and you should be ok). another nice thing, if you update fastrack with all your license plates, they will check that first even if it doesn't beep, and then it all takes care of itself, different car, didnt bother to bring your fastrack and went through anyway <g>, etc. jason

People that don't want to mount them just hold them up to the windshield when nearing the toll-booth, but my personal opinion is that it is too distracting from driving. People already have coffee, cellphones and cigarettes that keep them from the task at hand, sometimes all three. Because of the tint band that runs along the top of the windshield you can barely notice the thing. I don't want to have to mount the tag on my windshield if I can find a suitably hidden mounting spot that doesn't interfere with scanning of the tag at the toll booth. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance! In NY, E-ZPass offers both internal and external mount transponders specifically for windshields that block reception. The external one can be mounted behind the grill out of site. You may want to check with FasTrak about an external mount. I would mount it to the windshield right in front of the rear-view mirror only if 1) I didn't have to put the Velcro onto the windshield and 2) if it wasn't such an eye sore. I think I am going to hold it up when I pass the toll (I don't eat or drink in my car) so I don't think I'll be overly distracted until I can experiment with it some more. I was able to search a pretty neat way the Elise crew was able to mount their tags: http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7009&highlight=RFID If only our cars were made from composites...
