Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2005 07:24:03 -0600 From: "Mel Silva" <melsilva@mindspring.com> Subject: RE: [E36M3] Reattaching Side View Mirror I had some lady (with a large set of hips) run into mine while she tried to pass between my car and another in a parking lot. When I cam out of the store, she was in panic mode, trying to reattach the thing before she got caught. Too late. ;-) I popped it back on (as described with a sharp blow from the heel of my hand after aligning the pins). I think this lady had almost peed her pants when she knocked my mirror off. she was very relieved to see it just popped back on. I just aligned the pins and poped it back in with a solid whack with the heel of my hand. I just about crapped my drawers when I knocked it off. I didn't know they were designed to release if they get bumped .

#5. HID Install Problems - from Raza Uddin
Top
Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2005 12:01:01 -0800 From: Raza Uddin <raza.uddin@gmail.com> Subject: HID Install Problems I apologize about the cross-posting, but figured I need all the help I can get. I bought a set of used ZKWs and HID kit with PnP harnesses. I pretested everything before I installed it, and everything worked, low beam HID, High Beam H1s, and my fog lights. Last night when installing exactly as I tested, I can get the low beam HID's to work, but if I connect my High beams into the Pnp harness, nothing will work (high beams or HIDs). If I leave the high beams unplugged, the HIDs will work. Also, in the process, my fogs have stopped working (both of them). Even with the lights on, if I press the button to turn on the fogs nothings happens- not even the green light on the dash lights up. In addition, when I do turn on the HIDs, their is a significant surge in power that actually causes all the needles in the instrument cluster to dip slightly. Is this normal? I double checked all the wiring, all the fuses (replaced slots 11 and 12 with 15A), and I still can't get everything to work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance! Drive Safely, Raza

Please verify: Pin 1 = Ground Pin 2 = City Lights Pin 3 = Low Beam Pin 4 = High Beam Looking at the lights from behind. Pin 1 is the top pin. Pin 2 is the next one to the right (3 o'clock position) Pin 3 is at 6 0'clock and pin 4 is at 9 o'clock. See this webpage for help: http://www.apexcone.com/JimPowellHomepage/Lighting/EuroEllipsoids/EuroEllipsoids.html The wire colors on your PnPs are different than the ones on the webpage. But other than that, there are no differences. Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2005 17:55:08 EST From: Mdriver13@aol.com Subject: aluminum Thermostat housing - thanks Group, I'd like to thank everyone that provided me with information on the "bleed" hole. I'm just going to redrill the 1/8" hole and go from there. Sounds like it might be a good idea to have a plastic housing in reserve just in case the metal one leaks. Hopefully all will be fine and bingo - one more item I never have to worry about again...yea, right ;-)) cheers, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA 2nd Place BSP - PA State Championship 2004
