I can buy, or borrow them and retrun them if needed. I will need them for about two months until I have the turbo manifold ported and coated to put on my car. Tire rack and discount have cleared out these sizes, I've got three half-worn Neros and one FLAT one :( If you do happen to have one of these boys sitting around with 50%+ tread, please let me know :) --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? I'd prefer pickup (I live in eastern PA), but I'll ship if you pay for shipping. They're still strapped together in pairs from when I ordered them from Discount Tire Direct. - Chris

#4. Opinions of Ground Controls Coil over kits? - from Mo Karamat

Date: Tue, 15 Feb 2005 20:57:03 -0500 From: Mo Karamat <karamatm@optonline.net> Subject: Opinions of Ground Controls Coil over kits? Dear All, Evening.. I am thinking about changing my suspension to one of the kits that Ground controls offers.. 1. Complete c/o kit, E36 Street, (Uses Existing M3 Housings That Are On Your Car) - $999 2. Complete Coil-over Kit, E36 Track / School, (Complete Front Assemblies) - $1249 Any experiences, or thoughts about either of the kits would be appreciated. The car is used as a street car, and also my track car. So I am looking for something that will improve the handling without being punishing.. I currently have the Eibach Pro kit & Koni Sa's. Thanks Mo 98 M3/4

Hi Mo, Are you saying your current set-up is to punishing or just not enough handling? Are you running any type of aftermarket sway bars?? You did not mention this. What are your track camber settings? Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA 2nd Place BSP - PA State Championship 2004

#6. Annoying radio problem - from Wayne Covington
Top
Date: Tue, 15 Feb 2005 21:32:35 -0700 From: "Wayne Covington" <wcovington@frii.com> Subject: Annoying radio problem The stock HK stereo in my '98 M3 has developed an annoying problem. Rotating the volume control knob (in either direction) may increase the volume, or may decrease it, or may not do anything at all. Continually rotating the knob in one direction or the other causes the volume to sporadically increase or decrease. Everything appears mechanically tight and solid. I am thinking dirt/lint in the shaft encoder, or a screwed up shaft encoder, or ??, and I plan to remove the radio and see what I can find. I haven't seen anything about this in the archives. Has anyone else had this problem? Wayne

#7. Head Overhaul -- Anyone have M3/S50 Service Manual in PDF Form? - from Andrew Kalman

Date: Wed, 16 Feb 2005 09:27:54 -0800 From: Andrew Kalman <aek@pumpkininc.com> Subject: Head Overhaul -- Anyone have M3/S50 Service Manual in PDF Form? Hi All. Wondering if anyone has the E36 M3 Service Manual in PDF, and they could email me the pages that have the valvetrain specifications? Specifically, I need the factory specs for installed height, and all the spring specs. I have the fiche, but my fiche reader is the small kind, and so it's pretty hard to use. Hmmm ... I wonder if I can put the fiche on a slide viewer and then look via a stereo microscope? Gotta try that. As for my head overhaul, using a Serdi 3.0 last night we did a full multi-angle job on the intakes, and a full-radius blend on the exhausts. The intake seats cleaned up very well and were very consistent, but the exhaust seats -- where several seats had almost no margin left -- were not too consistent. With the seats and valves all done, I got for installed height corrections: Intake: 1A-6A: -0.015" 6B: -0.012" Exhaust: 1A-6B: A roughly decreasing pattern, from -0.016" on 1A down to -0.005" on 6B with some bumps inbetween. Note that this head had a slightly blown head gasket on cylinder #6. -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. Kalman, Ph.D. aek@pumpkininc.com

#8. BMW Tech Help (S50 US) - from Andrew Kalman

Date: Wed, 16 Feb 2005 12:02:50 -0800 From: Andrew Kalman <aek@pumpkininc.com> Subject: BMW Tech Help (S50 US) So, I have the repair fiche, parts fiche and torque fiche that cover my '95 E36 M3. I also have Bentley and a 3-series Haynes manual. None of them have important specs for engine builders, e.g. installed valve height, valve face angles, valve spring lengths and rates, etc. Where does BMW keep this information? -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. BMW's philosophy is definitely one of if it's broken, just swap it out. Hence, you can't buy ring and pinions for a diff, you can't buy tools to repair a leaking steering rack, you can't buy tools to rebuild a diff. And now you're asking about precise numbers and the such? HA! These are guys who use impact airguns when bolting trannies back to the engine... I forgot which series of books I bought for a friend, but it had detailed info...not sure if it was as detailed as what you're requiring... Good luck, Chester --- Andrew Kalman <aek@pumpkininc.com> wrote: > None of them have important specs for engine builders, e.g. installed > valve height, valve face angles, valve spring lengths and rates, etc. > > Where does BMW keep this information? =====
