Thanks Chuck for the tip on Xtecs verse Vizus! Do you have angel eyes as well or just the Xtec bulbs? What about headlights, ZKWs or stock? Just seeing if I really need the Xtecs or keep my Bosch + DDE setup the way it is (awesome still). ted On Tue, 22 Feb 2005 16:39:37 EST, ChuckBrazeau@aol.com <ChuckBrazeau@aol.com> wrote: > I've had experience with the Visu bulbs, and while they look really close to > HID color wise, they are very dim bulbs. I left the car sit for 5 days and the battery was dead. No lights were left on or any other devices that could have drained it in that time. Are there any particular items to check? I thought I had seen some threads about this phenomenon from time to time. I understand that the battery could be prematurely going bad. BTW, I'm in Florida. > > Thanks for any ideas or information. > > Bruce Shafer Check to make sure your trunk light isn't syaing on. This seems to be a fairly common problem. The wires in the harness on the left side of the trunk lid get pinched/broken after much use. I never got around to fixing the problem in my '97. I just removed the trunk light bulb. Problem solved. Date: Thu, 24 Feb 2005 10:36:02 -0500 From: <mzealot@bellsouth.net> Subject: Center Caps for BBS Wheels A couple of weeks ago somebody was looking for center caps for BBS wheels. I have at least 4 from the BBS RK wheels I use on my race car. These have never been used. Don't know if there is a universal fitment among BBS wheel center caps. If the party that was interested in these is still interested, please let me know. I can probably find a few more if necessary.

#7. Salvage M3 Advice/Sale - from morris.michael@TIAXLLC.com
Top
Date: Thu, 24 Feb 2005 10:58:39 -0500 From: morris.michael@TIAXLLC.com Subject: Salvage M3 Advice/Sale Hello List... long time lurker here: About 1 week ago I "totalled" (according to my insurance co) my M3, I'll save the details for a rainy day, but as a summary: I hit a guard rail head-on at about 30-35mph while at the same time maintaining some sideways motion, (downshifted going downhill in the snow and car rotated counter-clockwise into the uncoming lane/guardrail) and the car rotated skimming the rear-end against the rail as well. 90% of the damage was on the front: hood crumpled, radiator/fan broken, front fenders damaged, hood is stuck close, but I can see that the damage stops just past the radiator. The car still starts and I was able to drive it off the road right after the accident, so I don't believe there is any engine or tranny damage. I'm trying to determine whether it's worth it for me to buy the vehicle back with a salvage title and sell it as a parts car. The car is a 1995, AvusBlue, has 126K miles, was well cared for, and has new Bilsteins, a Rogue SSK, UUC Tranny Mounts, E46 RSMs, new metal waterpump, T-housing, belts, hoses, all within the last 30K (all spread over this time). I'm looking for some feedback... what do you think a slavaged 1995 would sell for, including the engine, tranny, interior, computer, etc.? Is anyone interested in buying this? I'm in Boston, and can send some pictures to those interested. I think your subject line has it correct - it's supposed to illuminate the ashtray :-) IIRC, there should be a small receptacle for the bulb in the bottom of the ashtray. I don't know for sure, since one of the first things I did was replace the ashtray with a general storage bin :-) Cheers, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 - no cigarette lighter, either 1993 325is #44 JP
