The only thing I have found in the aftermarket so far is something from Matt at www.umtiuza.com that is secured on to the outward facing portion of the existing Mesh. It appeared to be a high quality piece and therefore was of course significantly more expensive than the stock replacement mesh. Didn't work oout for me though.. I suppose it would look good if this new mesh was placed on a black plastic mesh but it looked downright bad in my opinion on the white mesh of my 95 M3.. Some folks have just gone with removing the plastic mesh piece and using good old fashioned 'wired mesh' Take a look at the thread I have pasted a link to below. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=312144 The majority of the problems I had were broken mounts to where the stock mesh was secured to due to a serious collision with a rather large racoon!! End result after much thought and effort.. I went back to the stock white mesh. =-) Good Luck! #3. Mesh Grill - from Foley, Brian

I live in NASCAR country here in Charlotte, NC. A company called Hutcherson/Pagan Enterprises sells the metal mesh in several different mesh sizes (meaning the wire is of different diameters...the larger the wire the more imposing the mesh). This is the same stuff used to block grille holes on race cars. It is pretty cheap. Buy a section to cut and fit. I use 1/8th inch vacuum hose, slit one side with a razor blade and use to make a protective edge around the outside. I use RTV silicone to glue in place. Brian Foley '97 M3/4

#6. Oil analysis - from Msebmwman@aol.com

Date: Sun, 27 Feb 2005 23:09:05 EST From: Msebmwman@aol.com Subject: Oil analysis Re: Neil and Bob suggest: Oil analysis and: Blackstone Labs www.blackstone-labs.com This is a very good suggestion. I finally sent some oil in 15W/50 used 7k miles right before change on my 70K mile 95 M3 that is daily driver and used on the track, last 5 years in SoCal, prior to that in Indiana (hi Neil). I sent in for routine analysis and a Dyson analysis. A man by the name of Terry Dyson will provide more insight into what your numbers mean. With this you can determine if you have coolant or gas leakage into your oil, whether your oil at the time it was taken is functioning still at the same weight, and also see what kind of wear and tear numbers you have relating to the various metals that comprise or coat parts in the oil lubricated part of the engine. For me all is very sound with essentially no wear evident, very good air filtering system, and no coolant or water ( I was a little concerned since my commute is 8 miles each way). Check Blackstone Labs www.blackstone-labs.com and find the place on the site to ask for a free kit to send in your oil. Send in 35$$ and ask for a Dyson analysis. This will also probably tell you that changing your oil at 3K with modern synthetics and engines and oil filters is bunk (at least it is in my case, my interval of once per year wtih 15/50 which includes track miles is just fine...I get to the track in hot SoCal about 3-4 times per year). Regards, Marc 95M3 No affiliate with blackstone, just an interested and enlightened customer.

#10. Pirellie P-Zero Corsa: 255/40-17? - from twisty M3

I've seen some remarks in the archives, but nothing with first-hand experience. I think I'll be ordering some new track wheels/tires this week, and since TireRack doesn't sell Toyos, I'm looking for something I can drive to and from the track on. I've heard many a horror story of the Kumho V700 and the Victoracers just don't look like something that would channel water well in the event of FWY rain. I'm close to biting the bullet on the light and inexpensive Kosei K1s (17x8.5) and having them mounted with the Corsas. I know others running 255 Toyos with no problem, and the spec sheet makes it look like thise are just a couple 10ths of an inch wider, so I'm hoping for no issues. Has anyone run this size on the K1s? (I currently have -3.5 degrees of camber in the front and -2.0 in the rear) Jonathan L.
