Couple things to check. 1. top spring seat fully seated into the spring? Not off center? 2. Just for grins, make sure top shock nut is tight. Hit a couple times with an impact wrench. 3. Check the part number on each of the springs. Make sure you don't have a 6" spring on one side and a 5.5" on the other. IF the part numbers match, your good to go. 4. They shouldnt be off Dave -----Original Message----- From: Mo Karamat [mailto:karamatm@optonline.net] Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2005 4:56 PM To: E36M3 Subject: [E36M3] Strange situation with GC coil-over kit. Need help. Date: Thu, 10 Mar 2005 19:47:08 -0500 From: Mo Karamat <karamatm@optonline.net> Subject: Strange situation with GC coil-over kit. Need help. Dear All, I need the wisdom of the group.. I installed my GC coil over kit the other night. After adjusting the height on the front of the car, I noticed that the driver side adjustment ring was at the very top of the threads, while the passenger side ring was .5" lower on the strut housing. Even thought the distance from the center of the rim to the fender lip was about even on both sides. (Yes, both sides had even tire pressure). Any thoughts on this? Tonight I took the car for an alignment. The strangeness continues. Dale from GC told me to have the shop set the camber at -1.5 degrees for the street. With the plates almost fully outward, the car has -2.8 degrees on the left, and -2.6 degrees on the right.. The shop said that due to the car being so low, I cannot go any more positive.. Any clues why this would be???? (1 notch inward ~ -1 degree of camber, and + .15" toe out) The rear camber was -1.8 left, and -1.6 on the right. Any help would greatly be appreciated.. I believe Konis and Advance Design shocks are kinda delicate up top due to the adjustment mechs. You probably don't want to do this impact wrench step. Bilsteins? Sure. Carlos.

Guys, Just put on the Kumho ASXs today: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=ECSTA+ASX Initial thoughts, *very* comfortable ride, compared to SO3s... almost like a luxury coupe now, haha :) Relatively inexpensive too... great for us mid-Atlantic folks, where the winter weather is all over the place (did they say snow again tomorrow, doh!). Anyways, have a question on tire pressure... what do you guys usually go with, for the following setup: 225/45/17 7.5" front 235/40/17 7.5" rear For normal, everyday, even long trip driving, set PSI to: ____ For more spirited, autocross driving, set PSI to: ____ Can anyone fill in those blanks for me? I'm assuming higher pressures for normal and lower for more spirited. Just looking for more ideal numbers or so see how far I'm off. Right now I'm looking at around 36-38psi all around. Thanks, ted

Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2005 13:23:59 -0800 (PST) From: kevin ogrodnik <kwogrodnik@yahoo.com> Subject: possible Airbag problems? Hi all, Any insight in the following would be appreciated. The red airbag light stays on for about 2 minutes when the car is first started, goes out, and does not come back on until the car is shut off and restarted. The manual says a problem is only present if the light comes on and stays on while driving, or stays on from start up and does not goes out. BTW, the light would go out after about 6-10 seconds until recently. Anyone encounter this before or have any insight into whether this is a problem or not? Thanks in advance. I have no experience with those particular tires but in general I use 36psi cold F&R on the street. I don't autocross, but for the track I start at 32 F&R and adjust based upon the chalk marks I make on the sidewalls. -- Jamie Howton 2000 M5 1995 M3 Hampshire, IL

There's a good chance one of your front seatbelt latch sensors is bad. They're a known weak point, and the symptoms are exactly as you describe. You'll need to find someone who has an SRS code reader to figure out exactly what it is. - Alain ----- Original Message ----- From: "kevin ogrodnik" <kwogrodnik@yahoo.com> To: "E36M3" <e36m3@bmw-m.net> Sent: Friday, March 11, 2005 2:26 PM Subject: [E36M3] possible Airbag problems? > Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2005 13:23:59 -0800 (PST) > From: kevin ogrodnik <kwogrodnik@yahoo.com> > Subject: possible Airbag problems? > > Hi all, > Any insight in the following would be appreciated. Date: Sat, 12 Mar 2005 14:16:28 -0500 From: Lee Piccione <leepic@smart.net> Subject: Help!!! Need a part!!! Gruppe, Does anyone know of, or have, a front suspension crossmember for a '95 M3? My production month is 9/94 (not sure if if that matters), but is does have the threaded bolt holes for the X-brace. Most of us have heard of motor mounts going bad, and then eventually causing crossmember damage, but I did it one better. The bottom nut on the right mount was very loose, the nut on the left mount is gone! Therefore, my crossmember is not completely trash... :-( Thanks, Lee
