Pic attached in your personal reply, but I think the list software deletes them... This was on a 98 M3/4, by the way; in my case, the light stayed on all the time, and I don't know if there are other differences on 95's. I'd suggest: http://www.ibmwr.org - Internet BMW Riders (mailing list with about 2,000 people worldwide, plus a webpage with LOTS of info and tech articles.) http://www.bmwmoa.org - BMW Motorcycle Owners of America (about 28,000 owners in US) http://www.bmwra.org - BMW Riders Association (about 6,000 owners in the US) And yes - I'm an owner of real BMWs :-) [Real BMWs have 2 wheels..] I own them not only for the safety features they offer, but also for reliability (particularly their water cooled engine bikes - the "K" series) and the group of people who ride them. There are very active groups for the motorcycles, with get togethers, local clubs, about anything you could want. Info on these can be found on the three sites above. BTW - the R1150R is a prior model - you didn't mention what year. The new models are the R1200 series and the new K1200S. With the new models just appearing in the showrooms - you can expect some super deals on leftover 1150's and used bikes. Most have had it fixed under warranty or done it themselves. 2) I reset it when it comes on. Same reasons you stated. Peake SRS tool. If the airbag is activated, it should still go off. It will do this at a higher rate and speed because it thinks the passenger is NOT wearing the seat belt. The last time I posted this question the majority of you said the vent tube should go into the rubber grommet. It all went fine when I's getting my car ready for spring last night until I tighten down the rear battery mount plate. Since the front stop is past the grommet the battery is effectively sitting on the grommet opening completely pinching the vent tube. But since it's so tight in there I can't tell for sure. I tried mounting the battery back one mounting hole but then the positive cable isn't long enough to reach the terminal. Something isn't quite right here. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!</P> <P>Alan<BR><BR></P></DIV></div></html>

#5. afe intake install... air temperature sensor? - from Theodore Serbinski

Date: Mon, 28 Mar 2005 12:22:18 -0500 From: Theodore Serbinski <stanson@gmail.com> Subject: afe intake install... air temperature sensor? Hey guys, Just installed the AFE Intake based off of a great group buy at BFC: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=291773 (still going on to the 31st if anyone is interested). Anyhow, I noticed as I was removing my airbox there was no air temp sensor? Any idea why this thing would be missing? What does it do exactly? Should I buy one? I haven't noticed any weird problems since I acquired the car in Oct so this is a little bit strange for me. Also, anyone know if I need to oil up the the AFE filter? Didn't say whether or not it came preoiled but it appears to be. Thanks, ted

#6. Emissions error codes - from Peter Fanning
Top
Date: Mon, 28 Mar 2005 09:54:30 -0800 From: Peter Fanning <pbfanning@comcast.net> Subject: Emissions error codes Our '98 M3/4 has thrown E3 (Oxygen sensor adaptation limit, Cyl 1-3) and CA (Oxygen sensor control limit, Cyl 1-3) codes. I replaced all four oxygen sensors at about 105k miles, it now has 115k. One thought is that it's related to the emissions control valve, since the car threw a secondary air system fault a couple months ago. After checking that the pump works and cleaning the intake hose I haven't received that code again. Any help is appreciated. TIA, Peter Fanning '98 M3/4

#10. 8.5 w LTW's all around? - from Robert Manger

Date: Mon, 28 Mar 2005 14:12:27 -0500 From: Robert Manger <Robert_Manger@Mastercard.com> Subject: 8.5 w LTW's all around? Hello Gruppe, I just put on a new set of Mich Pilot Sport 2's on my car. The question I have is how much clearance should there be between the tires and the closest immovable object? In my case I have H&R coilovers on the car and raised the front up a little (+5mm from sway bar bracket to lower locking nut) and I have about 3-4mm between the large locking ring that the spring sits on and the shoulder of the tire. Thankfully the Mich's shoulder is more rounded than others out there. I don't want to use spacers if I don't have to since there doesn't seem to be much room to move the wheel outward.
