When I press the gas its like it is hesitating while the revs go up. It seems like I'm going to stall from a stop but it never does. It sounds like it is stumbling. My foot is off the clutch, then it just kind of takes off. Seems worse when I 'm going up my condo driveway slowly. The car starts jerking all the way up, when I Get up there it seems fine, but only when I keep constant gas on it. The CE light is not coming on and I'm trying to figure out where to start troubleshooting. Seems like the hesitation is there at standstill as well. When I drive, I now have to relase the clutch at a somewhat elevated RPM range. I don't like doing that since Im slipping it more, and at a higher speed(?). I suppose I'm going to check the sparks this weekend (last change was 55K, its probably time anyway). The O2 sensors were changed only 15Kmiles ago. I'm not sure what else to check without throwing the CE light. rE 99M3 112K Miles

Do you guys remember the series of pictures of a red E36 M3 barrel rolling at Gingerman? The last one being the driver sitting on the grass with his head between his hands doing the "look what I've done" pose? That was at a Speed Trial event I'm told. IIRC he had that look because a) the car was his girlfriends b) he wasn't supposed to borrow it c) that meant really the car belonged to her Dad d) it was off the insurance. I can't confirm the details but it sure makes for a story to relate to your friends on what not to do at a driver's school. :-) Carlos.

#9. glovebox latch part # and coolant overflow plastic piece part # - from Theodore Serbinski

Date: Tue, 29 Mar 2005 14:43:23 -0500 From: Theodore Serbinski <stanson@gmail.com> Subject: glovebox latch part # and coolant overflow plastic piece part # Hey guys, Just preformed the Understeer.com glove box fix <http://www.understeer.com/glovebox.shtml> but noticed my glovebox no longer stays shut now. Doh! Actually, before the fix, the glovebox would randomly open anytime I hit a bump, it wouldn't stay latched. Right now the only way to keep it closed is to lock the glovebox... which actually looks great, those 2 screws really tightened up the whole glove box but obviously, isn't too useful when I need something out of there and I'm driving :) So anyone know the part # for latch? I'm assuming I only need to replace this part and not the actual lock on the glovebox door and other pieces correct? Also, noticed that the plastic piece around the coolant overflow tank screw is missing... the piece that basically centers and holds the top portion of the tank in place. Anyone got a part # on this too? Thanks, ted

#10. Steering Rack Question (Z3?) - from geoff atkinson

Date: Tue, 29 Mar 2005 15:15:37 -0500 From: "geoff atkinson" <pskalc@hotmail.com> Subject: Steering Rack Question (Z3?) Hi everyone, So, it appears that my P/S lines are leaking, on my '95... The one with the trombone cooler section, and the other one coming from the reservoir... And, while it was on the lift, I noticed fluid coming from the right side boot. Nice! Anyway, on the e30 M3 SIG, there was recent discussion of replacing the original e30 M3 rack with a '95 M3 rack... and the word on that particular street is that the Z3 rack from the non-M Z cars is a quicker ratio than ours. Anyone here ever try this conversion? If so, what else was needed? Does anyone actually know the ratios for the two (Z3 and '95 M3)? I couldn't find anything in the archives, or in my searches... I'm looking forward to getting rid of this leaking.... Thanks! -Geoff Atkinson '95 M3 '89 LSB M3 2.3/2.5 etc.
