You mean that if I buy a refurbed rack, from the dealer for a '95 M3, it'll be the same ratio as '96+ M3's? Or do you mean that it'll be the same ratio as all e36 racks? So a reman for a Z3 would be the same too? Would that be true of those purchased from places like Griffiths, or the local car parts store, etc.? Then why the "surcharge" for the '95 M3 rack, then, I wonder. Thanks for the info.... That's really surprising. -Geoff Atkinson Currently Shocked >From: Chester Wong <chester_p_wong@yahoo.com> >To: geoff atkinson <pskalc@hotmail.com>, E36M3 <e36m3@bmw-m.net> >Subject: Re: [E36M3] Steering Rack Question (Z3?) >Date: Tue, 29 Mar 2005 12:31:24 -0800 (PST) > >If you do plan on getting one, do know that reman units all have the same >stinkin' ratio. I was told that you can't just swap the original DME w/ a donor DME. Isn't the DME programmed for my car only? Can that code be cut and pasted from my original unit into another DME if I can find one? TIA Evan PS I need to sell my '95 M3 Automatic w/ 65K miles so I can fix the 540i. Black w/ gray, daughter driven, Daddy paid for! Priced for immediate sell

Yeah not really sure what to piece I need to replace, figured "latch" was good enough :D Maybe one of the plastic bits then I need to replace. Any ideas which one? Was looking at realoem.com and couldn't really determine what I would need to replace. Thanks, ted

I've done Trackmasters at Watkins Glen but not on the west coast. They were very professional in the schools and also offered about 6 hours/day of lapping for the advanced drivers who had been signed off. School was like a BMWCCA one with an instructor at all times. The sales manager I bought my M3 from gave away a free day with Trackmasters to all buyers and got me hooked. He is both a Trackmasters and BMWCCA instructor as well. Just FYI, you're referring to a different group, I believe. The group you're talking about is at: https://www.trackmasters.com/Page.asp?Script=1 Whearas the group Jon was asking about is: http://www.trackmasters-racing.com/ AFAIK, the latter hasn't done any events outside of CA.
