I used a Greddy temp sender block, that I spliced into one of the radiator hoses (OK, replace "I" with "my mechanic" :-)). Been working fine (no leaks, etc) for over two years. I believe MarkD is using the same. I don't have a picture on-line (website still undergoing updates, grrrr :-)), but I can email it to you later this evening. Jim Bassett

Yep, I replaced the pump a few months ago when it gave out (i.e. ceased functioning as a pump :-)). Barely a 1 beer job. I don't recall how much the pump was, but I can look at home if you want (I should still have the receipt). Jim Bassett

Mine was leaking badly when I first bought my car (now some 4 years ago). The washer fluid pump was also defective. When I ordered the new pump it came with replacement o-rings that seal the pump housing to the reservoir. Mine started leaking again recently (very slow leak, but still leaking. I removed the pump, removed the o-ring and greased it with a very small amount of petroleum jelly. Put the o-ring back on the pump, no leak. That little o-ring is all that keep the thing sealed. If you let the washer fluid pump run dry (as I suspect the PO of my car did) it'll probably burn up the little pump. Incontinence in it's old age? Who knows. Besides, didn't think it's that old of a car! Anyway, when looking down at the tank, on the right side there's a long (2-3") black cylinder. According to the parts list, that's the pump itself. The leak seems to be coming from the base of that, where that attaches to the reservoir itself. Anybody been there done that already? Does the pump itself develop a leak, or do the various gasgets wear out? You can buy such from Edge Motorworks ><http://www.edgemotorworks.com/> pre-tapped and ready to go. I can't tell from their picture -- is there additional material (i.e. a boss) where they drill and tap the hole for the sender? Or do they just drill-n-tap into a body that's just like a stock unit? Thanks, -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. Kalman, Ph.D. aek@pumpkininc.com
