I was being a bit facetious, since periodically the question gets asked, and there always seems to be some "debate" as to whether or not spacers are required. :-) > Measured from the top of the wheel arch to the center of the wheel. I concur :-) I had been using their High-Temp ATF in the race car application, but it didn't seem to keep the fluid from boiling out the cap vent hole on occasion, so I'm back to the "regular" ATF (one less fluid to keep on hand :-)). A rag safety-wired over the cap helps keep things a bit clean :-) And the filter is integral to the reservoir; about $40 IIRC. #6. front control arm bushings - from Andy Radin

Date: Thu, 7 Apr 2005 11:25:08 -0700 From: "Andy Radin" <fourfa@hotmail.com> Subject: front control arm bushings What's the current recommended aftermarket front control arm bushing for a 98 M3/2? I haven't followed too closely for a while, but I recall some trouble with one of the brands of urethane bushings. My alignment tech (Custom Alignment, Mountain View) just called to report worn bushings; I need to get them ordered and installed ASAP so they can finish the front alignment. Thanks, Andy R. 98 m3/2

Meybe since it appears to still be in a car - looks like an M3 to me - he plans on driving it to the winner. Then take it out and remove the carcass. Not. The photo showing it in the car also adds some more to the smell here.. this photo could be taken from almost any website with photos of M3/euro-engined. BTW - I seem to remember that some of the M3's of our cousins to the north (Canada) did come in with the euro engines.. or am I remembering something that didn't happen? _______D_o_n__________S_p_r_i_n_g__L_a_k_e__H_t_s____________©1946________ Don Eilenberger, Spring Lk Hts, NJ - http://www.njsbmwr.org/ '98 M3c/5, '03 525iT, '87 K75S

The second generation (black center piece) are supposed to be fine. Bimmerworld has both the powerflex bushings and Delrin. Delrin is recommended for track use only.
