A little-known detail about the 1996-1999 M3/MZ3 3.2l (including Euro cars) is that they too have this part. ... M3s with the 3.0l engine do not have this part, nor do any other E36." Can't personally verify or deny this, just remembered seeing this page a while back...

Mine is rattling like crazy too. I was under there a couple weeks ago and tried to tie it to one side just to keep it from flopping around. 'Course it didn't work. Anyone have a definitive solution for fixing this? David Kroth david_kroth@yahoo.com __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Make Yahoo! your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs

Instead it is mounted on the bracket where the flex hose meets the hard pipe.. in-line with the lines. Been meaning to rip mine out, but don't have two sets of ramps to get the car up on. Anyone in/near NJ have a lift who might want to do a CDV remove and brake flush session? It's a M10x1.5 so it's rather large. Any ideas of removing it? It broke under the surface, btw and no methods of using a dremel, etc have made a dent in the hardened steel. TIA, Chester

Cheap masonry drill, trapezoidal insert sharpened very slightly with a Dremel or a stone, will drill through the tap like butter. Best to drill in a little ways, and then try a normal drill in reverse -- it may pull the tap out. -- ______________________________________ Andrew E. Kalman, Ph.D. aek@pumpkininc.com
