Im looking for a shop that knows how to work on BMWs that have modifications. Please direct all answers to me unless anyone else chimes in and thinks it should go to the board. Thanks in advance. Well, going from just about anything short of new sawdust will make a large improvement over the "factory lifetime fill". :-) Later, Rich

I would make them much easier > to torque to the proper specs... I may be missing something, but what difference does it make? You should be able to put the torque wrench on one end of the bolt/nut or the other while holding the other end? I would put the bolts in the exact same way they came from the factory. I torque these by feel most times anyway, it is much easier for me to feel it with larger bolts/nuts. Regards, Rich

I put them on my 330i after living with noisy Continentals, then REALLY noisy ES-100s. So far, with 10K on them, they are wearing very well (better than either of the others), and are still quiet! Minimal tramlining, and more grip than I dare to use on the street. Good luck. I have not tried this product, but from the FAQ sheet, sounds like a thin layer of spray-on car wax! I've tried that, and it helps. Not sure it's worth the extra rubbing and buffing. cheers, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA 2nd Place BSP - PA State Championship 2004

#9. UUC: Light weight Flywheel - which clutch? - from Dave Arnold
Top
Date: Sun, 17 Apr 2005 19:04:15 -0400 From: "Dave Arnold" <air2daa@insightbb.com> Subject: UUC: Light weight Flywheel - which clutch? Ok, seems like I have a decision to make. My throw out bearing has gone belly up and I'll be changing out the clutch and want to go with a lightweight flywheel setup. From reviewing the archives it seems like one of the top candidates is the UUC stage 2 flywheel, but the is a few different choices that I can go with for the clutch itself. The M5 setup and a few others. I do about five track events a year so it's both a street and track car. What is everyone's experience, recommendations for which clutch to go with (organic, Kevlar, Sach's or the M5) and is there another lightweight flywheel that I should consider? I would like to order parts this week. Thanks, Dave A 95 ///M3

On my car that means starting at 29 cold. My car only weighs 2850 with me in it so you'll likely have to start lower than that on a porky street car :-) Shane K.
