However drilling down further into the Z'ville web site I see that this is for the MY2000 and earlier Z/M Coupe, meaning it's NOT the one that also fits the regular E36 (the 2001+ S54 part). In fact this seems simply to be the Coupe counterpart to their normal E36 rad. My apologies for the confusion, and thanks to Bruce H for pointing out my error. > I have a PWR that's no longer offered in this form due to multiple fitment > issues. Here's a link to the current "thin" 40mm (i.e. normal thickness) PWR rad: http://www.absoluteradiator.com/ProductPage.asp?idProd=53 However a Google search brought up this page: http://www.pwr-performance.com/bmw.htm which also shows the 57mm "thick" version that I have. Have they fixed the fitment issues? I don't know. However it is in any case possible to work around them if you want the high capacity rad. Too many choices...? Date: Tue, 19 Apr 2005 15:36:04 -0400 From: "James Clay" <james@bimmerworld.com> Subject: New Data System I just picked up a new data product that will be amazing for driver training and improvement. It installs in minutes, is easy to use, has lots of good data, including GPS and the ability to compare lines around the track. And then you can pull it from your car, put it in a friends, and do a back to back comparison. Price will be super reasonable, around the $1,000 range. More info later but I was super excited to find it and thought I would share now. I preach it all the time - there is nothing like data to really make you a better driver - spend the money on it now instead of the next go-fast goody and you will be way better off in the long run. I have seen GPS options alone go for $500 to 5,000+. Stack starting price is $2300 for recording, downloadable data, Motec starts at $4500. This is not at all like a Gtech. It offers wheel speed traces - the most valuable tool for learning. Also will show track position which is a relatively new thing - but imagine being able to overlay your instructors data in the paddock and actually visually seeing that they turn in earlier, get on the gas earlier, and don't overslow the car so they enter a turn 10 MPH faster. That is a lot of good info. The standard response for my customers is how much do you spend on tires for a year and if you went with a cheaper tire (or insert other modification here) and applied to money toward data - think how much faster you would end up 2 years down the road - then blow the extra money on more or more expensive tires at that point. #9. New Data System - PART 2 - from James Clay

Date: Tue, 19 Apr 2005 17:46:53 -0400 From: "James Clay" <james@bimmerworld.com> Subject: New Data System - PART 2 Lots of responses here! I will put up full information when I have it on the web and a link from the main page. This is a new company, US based - it is not a system on the market at this point. I will have the first production units here in May. The strong point of the system is that for $1000 approximately, you can have a system that you install at the track yourself in a few minutes, can move between cars, and is self contained. It does not try to pack more technology than is necessary in the box - you can't add 4 wheel speed sensors, throttle position, etc. But you don't need to. Simple is better. I spent about 3 years working with a wheelspeed trace to maximize performance. Until you get super detailed, the rest of the stuff is just...stuff. This piece does give you wheel speed traces, track position, lateral and long Gs, and a track map. Downloads to a PC and it has some nice comparison functions also. So that is really it for now. I played with it at the track last weekend and it is impressive. More info when I have it.
