I pulled part of the hood insulation & there's a circular hole under it but there's another layer of metal so you can't access the bottom of the emblem. Those suckers are stuck there pretty damn good. There are two rubber grommets that are stuck into the sheet metal that receive the two plastic prongs of the emblem. Age makes them hard, etc...so pulling the emblem is a bitch. Some have said use a butter knife...I don't see how one could possibly slip dental floss underneath. I would lay down something tough like duct tape or multiple layers of painters tape right up to the edge of the roundel. Then wedge something sharp that will grab the lip of the plastic and lever it out. Good luck, Chester --- L R <lhrc51@yahoo.com> wrote: > I know that it's a stupid question but how do you replace the hood emblem on > a '95 M3 (do you just carefully pull it?). You don't access it from the underside, you access it from the topside. Take a thin screwdriver, wrap it in a towel or something. Slide it under the roundel and pry it up. At least that's what I remember hearing, I haven't replaced mine yet. Need to, it's lookin pretty ratty. Andrej '97 M3

So my advice is to 'drive real fast until you hood emblem flies off'. Of course, YMMV and I accept no responsibility for anything that may or may not happen to you if you follow this advice. We're professionals; don't try this at home. Etc... (in reality I think water got under the emblem and then the water froze which made it pop off) Mel
