Again, I don't plan to go beyond 255s so this fits the bill. Have you tried Kumho VictoRacer V700s in the 255/40 size. That's just another lower cost option that I'm considering although I think the Toyos are a superior tire and longer lasting. Do you know what your camber settings are? I think the rear maxes out at about 1.8 or 2.0 negative with the stock arms. In the front, I'll be around 3. I guess I wouldn't call it wet, ran my finger over it and it seemed okay. I did notice some oil on my rebound adjuster tool last week, so it's leaking slightly from the top too. I guess I'll wait until they get really bad before I send them back. cheers, Bob Gill 97 ///M3 coupe Philly Region SCCA 2nd Place BSP - PA State Championship 2004

As far as using aluminum, it will make things slightly noisier. Usually a track car upgrade, but I have customers with them on the street. A pluuer would be nice for the front bushing - if you have the right one it can be done with the diff in the car - rear would be pressed in after removing the cover. At the same time, inspect the outer control arm ball joints for wear - they start to loosen up with track use. #5. Yakima Roof Rack for Sale all E36 including M - from Patrick Goss - PA

Date: Thu, 16 Jun 2005 11:19:24 -0400 From: Patrick Goss - PA <Patrick_Goss@GMACM.COM> Subject: Yakima Roof Rack for Sale all E36 including M I got this rack last May for my M3 when I was considering using it to bring home building supplies every once in awhile. I just couldn't bring myself to do that, so I bought a woody jeep instead and have been using that instead when its running. I don't need this rack anymore. It was assembled and used once for 1 hour and since then its been in my trunk and is in excellent condition with the original boxes included. Note that if you go to yakima's website, they recommend a shorter (48"IIRC) cross bar for the E36, well I got the longest ones and cut them just long enough to fit in trunk, so they might be around 50" or so. Don't worry you wouldn't know if I told you, the original caps were installed on the end afterwards. With the extra length you could haul an extra bike or whatever, or even a piece of 4x8 plywood/drywall with enough of a nub on either side to strap securely to. I added foam pipe insulation to protect the bars from scratches and cushion loads, but as you can imagine they were never utilized. These are the actual parts included: Yakima Q Towers part #8000105 Yakima Q18 Clips part #8000618 Yakima 58" Crossbar #8000409 List price is firm at 175 plus shipping. I checked retail this morning and it was over 225. I am in philly PA and will meet relatively local in case one should want to purchase locally. Thanks, Patrick Goss 97 M3/4

#6. Radiator ? - from tetice@triad.rr.com

Date: Thu, 16 Jun 2005 13:12:19 -0400 From: tetice@triad.rr.com Subject: Radiator ? Does anyone know how to determine the age of a radiator? I'm trying to detemine the risk of my radiator failing when I put it on the track shortly. I don't know the detailed history of the car but it's a '93 325i with 125k miles so I can't imagine it is the original - if it is I certainly won't risk ruining my day as well risking other's track time. It has a BMW sticker indicating it was manufactured by Behr but I can't find anything resembling a date code. I also can't find the typical "clock thingy" with the arrow pointing to a month and year. The radiator is currently mounted so perhaps this is hidden somewhere where I can't see it. Thanks, Tom Tice '98 M3/4 '93 325iS '98 328iC '02 325iT/5 '02 X5

However, Thule lists a fit for the E36 3 series 2-door but shows no fit for the M3 2-door. Has anyone used the Thule rack on a 2-door M3? It should work, right? There is no difference in the upper body / windows of an M3 vs. regular 3 series, right? Scott

Might as well do the themostat & water pump too. Then you KNOW when they were changed. FWIW, you can fit the slightly larger radiator from the S54-motored M Coupe in there. Search the archives, MarkD & I have mentioned it several times. > but it's a '93 > 325i with 125k miles so I can't imagine it is the original - if it is > I certainly won't risk ruining my day as well risking other's track > time. See above - as a fellow racer, I thank you :-) > It has a BMW sticker indicating it was manufactured by Behr but I > can't find anything resembling a date code. Hmm, I'd have to go look, but I seem to recall my new Behr radiator in the race car having a date code on it, on top of the radiator. <shrug> My 2 cents, Jim Bassett 1998 M3/4 1993 325is #44 JP
