This was all an integral system to be used together with the respective control arm. The fact that you swapped the control arm but retained the king pin might give you strange alignment settings (I think caster is the primary one). Chester

Yes this did affect the camber. Turner motorsport said they do this all the time. From what they told me the offset bushing and the 95 control arm bring the caster back to basically where the 96+ stock was. They also put offset on the 96+ to add more caster. I did not need that since I have the GC race camber plates. Ended up spending another hour doing the front alignment. Fun Fun! See you at The Glen next week right? Until fairly recently TCK supplied the same E36 camber plates for the E46. Because for their own mysterious reasons BMW changed the mounting hole angular position in the E46, this had the collateral effect of rotating the TCK plate and making the camber adjustment slots diagonal rather than straight across. So it wasn't a feature, it was a bug, sort of. My guess is that this is the version you saw. They do now list an E46-specific part, <http://www.tcklineracing.com/monoball.htm> although I haven't seen one myself. Adjustable-perch coilovers allowed in front since they came as coilovers from the factory.
